What a great tribute to Pres. Magafuli you wrote! A part of me died when he did…as a husband to a wonderful Kenyan woman, I might have been more aware of him than many. He gave me great hope, and his passing sucked that out of me.

As far as the Governor of Oklahoma goes…..I have mixed feelings. I instinctively mistrust ANY politician. I don’t think it’s possible for anyone at the state or federal level to gain public office without compromising their integrity in some way….but, for me, where do you draw the line? Does one sacrifice some part of 100% purity in order to do at least *some* good? Or do,you stick to your guns and go down in flames, and an even worse regime takes over? Is it more morally pure to let the perfect be the enemy of the good? I don’t know. I know that in my own life, I have lost every single battle and skirmish with the “authorities” when I wouldn’t compromise in some way, and the resulting outcome was usually or maybe even always worse than what had seemed likely to occur had I budged a little. Sometimes stubbornness is a virtue, and sometimes it is a vice….I pray, often, for wisdom in making the right call, a thousand times a day, in matters big and small. I know I have more devils whispering in my ear than angels, though at times, it is hard to tell them apart.

Thanks for all you do!

I spent some time in Wash DC to lobby for my company and met multiple congress critters - my takeaway, the best actors aren't in hollywood, they're in Washington DC.
