People say that the Daily Beast “only” wrote a smear piece about Gonzalo Lira indicating his location. The Daily Beast ALSO contacted the Ukrainian government - despite the fact that it is known that political opposition is tortured & killed by their secret police - the SBU.

I used to read things like this and think how terrible that this goes on in parts of the world. Now I read them and wonder how long before this is our reality in "civilized" countries.
Gosh! I'd not been following him for a week or so - had no idea he'd gone missing (although I realised he was in extreme danger). Praying he will be OK.
