Does Hamas have a weapon that can produce that massive a fireball or explosion? I haven't seen any video that shows an explosion that powefull ... so my guess would be that explosion came from an Israeli missile or bomb strike. A video of the strike is at Zero Hedge. The sound effects just before the massive fireball sound like a supersonic strike to me. I don't think this was any 'errant" missile from Hamas.

It's too soon to tell exactly what happened but I recall a Democracy Now story from an earlier Gaza war, (there have been five). Amy Goodman was on line live with a director of a hospital in Gaza as shells were hitting the hospital compound. The Doctor said they had carefully given the IDF the hospital coordinates so that it wouldn't be attacked.

But it was attacked. When Goodman contacted the Israeli's in real time, they denied shelling the hospital. In the same real time story you could hear the shells landing in the hospital compound.

The pattern from the IDF is always to deny that they caused civilian casualties. Then they claim the casualties were the result of Hamas using civilians as human shields. Then they claim the civilians were warned to leave and based on the rules of war, the IDF acted appropriately.

US media carries all these claims prominently. When the truth comes out it might make page six. Even as I write this the NYTimes headlines says "explosion at Gaza hospital" with Israel claiming it was an errant rocket launched by the Palestinians. Truth is the first casualty of war.
