One Hollywood Star, Tim Robbins, Expresses Remorse: "I Demonized People."
But first, a story, from the comments section, that I found very moving.
“My son was born with a very complicated situation. After three years of failed surgeries, I started to research. Was just the beginning of "Google". Georgia girl found a doctor in Washington State that had a totally different theory. I called his office, and he was gracious enough to spend two hours with me explaining how he handled these issues. I went to my husband at the time and said I want this doctor to see our son. He started yelling at me asking who in the hell was I to question our son's care when I didn't even have a college degree. (He did, but I didn't). He told me he would not pay a dime for a second opinion. At that time, I was this soft-spoken southern woman, never stood up for myself. I ignored him, made an appointment with my son's GA doctor, had to stop on 85 and throw up because I was so scared of going up against my husband and my son's doctor. Told the doctor he had to call our insurance company and have them pay for a second opinion or I was going to sue. I then went to my dad and asked if he would pay for the traveling expenses because my husband would not. 23 years later, my son graduated from UGA with an academic scholarship and is a sponsored rock climber. The doctor in Washington State saved his life. The first surgery he performed took 13 hours repairing everything the first doctor did. DO NOT let anyone EVER tell you that you are too dumb to research on your own or know wrong from right.”
