(Joan is a “first generation” AIDS dissenter, (we met in 1987) whose top star BBC career was dismantled, who faced media medical ethics courts and all kinds of vicious tribulations, but stood firm, 40 years, and whose films serve as the most consistent documentation of all the voices who tried to stop it all. Joan’s archives are being carefully preserved by Children’s Health Defense.

None of the injustices or perversions of scientific conduct described in the article were ever set right in Peter Duesberg’s lifetime. But in the end, he won.

The institutional punishment of dissenters like Duesberg is a pattern we keep seeing repeat. What's striking is how Joan Shenton's career dismantling parallels what happened to other journalists who questioned orthodoxy. The preservation of these archives by CHD is huge because this kind of documentation becomes crucial when established narratives eventually crack. These first-generation voices deserve to be herd.
