Thank you! It's a gift to remember when songs would make our hearts melt and we didn't need the translation --- each of us just knew that the song was being sung just for us --- ah, such romance!

Every day can be Valentine's Day! May yours be joyful!

I had no idea what he was saying, but loved seeing the emotion and joy in his face!

Beautiful! I knew Brel through the wonderful anthems such as Milord sung by Edith Piaf. I had never seen a video of the man himself, or heard this long. Thanks!

Happy to report that my bride dragged my superannuated butt off of the sofa and we danced a few last night to Bing Crosby, Perry Como and Enrico Macias. The kids happily joined in.

Thank you all for responding to my comment. I'm thrilled to know that we, as a society, are tired of the conditioning that taught us to suppress feelings and emotions. It's been part of my practice to have clients -- especially men -- connect to those emotions that I say come from the very Soul and bring us LIFE! Yes, it's wonderful to be emotional, sentimental, and loving! It's the only way our world will change for the better!

Jean Pierre Melville is French art. Cinema, not so much song is a French forte.

But this was Belgian art, albeit francophone. It would seem Belgium is historically much stronger in music than in moving pictures.
