Once again…beautiful and I love the essay about Nureyev’s position and POV that he used to dance in this scene.

I saw him in Sleeping Beauty in 1975. A once in a lifetime experience. Beauty! Thank you for sharing this.

What a pleasantly surprising post! Thank you Celia for reminding us how potent art is. I was very moved by this performance. The emotional tone between them was a very sophisticated kind of intimacy where they were unified and yet gloriously independent individuals. Watching the performance made me long to be on the stage again. Due to the covidification of the arts in Los Angeles I was no longer "permitted" to perform my solo play because of my non-compliance. I think I need to move to Florida or Texas to find theaters that haven't lost their minds :)

Magnificent! Thank you for these marvelous jewels in the season of Advent. I also saw him at maybe one of his very last performances Don Quixote. He was to retire but still it was thrilling...and me just out of college I knew so much 😇 I know a lot less now!
