I haven't seen this particular doc on Schulz. I am grateful for the occasion when I and a few other cartoonists went to Charles Schulz's home and visited with him for a few hours. He was most humble and gracious. He gave all of us a few of his books which he autographed in our presence. One detail that is extraordinary is that he is one of very few artists who became a billionaire. Thanks for posting this! Also-I consider the Charlie Brown Christmas special a tradition.
Sebastopol/Santa Rosa in Sonoma County was the adopted home town of Luther Burbank, a huge name in the gardening and horticultural field. The other famous person who has lived in both towns is Charles M. Schulz. There is a museum dedicated to Schulz and the airport in Santa Rosa is named after him. Burbank and Schulz died at the age of 77 in Santa Rosa. Schulz was born 100 years ago (11/26/22).
I'll have to watch this. I remember seeing him at the ice rink he owned in Santa Rosa when I was a kid. Used to go there with my cousins. Another cousin used to be his business manager for many years.
oh and while i at it here, for you snoopy0philes...nothing beats original cast snoopy's 'suppertime' show-stopper from b-way's 'you're a good man, charlie brown'. can be found in the 'tubes'. a real upper if you be needin' a wee boostier.
