The only thing I know is that I have a thing about doors, and that I began taking photos of doors in Granada, Spain, 3 years ago. These here are all taken in the last 3 weeks.

Doors can be forbidding doors can be foreboding. They can be inviting. They can be welcoming. They can be protective. In the world we live in today they are seldom open as they were in the past. They are not welcoming. They are a barrier.

I live in a French country home that had a beautiful wooden door with glass windows. I am very risk-averse and wanted to make sure my family was safe so I had it replaced with a very heavy steel door. I regret that we live in a time where we must fear what’s on the other side of that door but I feel I would be remiss if I didn’t protect ,if I didn’t protect my family and my friends . In spite of this rather sad admission I still have hope because I know God is still in charge I know that a new day will dawn I know that evil will be defeated. That’s my hope that’s my prayer that’s my belief. But in the meantime I will protect the people I love.

Finally and this is going to offend some of you and I don’t apologize but I’m so glad this country refuses to relinquish its weapons. That would be injudicious , that would be foolish until we defeat this evil we must be diligent. We must be prepared to fight. There are worse things than death you know.
