GoFundMe Backs Down, Under Threat Of DeSantis Fraud Investigation

Will Automatically Refund $10 million In Trucker Support Donations, As Any Honest Business Would Have Done Without Pressure

This morning, I wrote this, but did not post it:

I was reading this, about the GoFundMe rape of the convoy donors and thinking wearily, “this has some fairness in it, how can that be?” Then I saw it was a (weak-tea) “conservative” outlet. One of those not-entirely awful articles that only makes you more furious, because they can’t match any words with any obvious morals.

How do you have a crowd-funding business which, when crowds raise funds, you then subject to ROBBERY, based on ideological posturing?

I loathe GoFundMe, and have no idea why the Freedom convoy got involved with it. Some seven years ago, I used it to raise funds for my original Truth Barrier website and was sent several hundred dollars in donations by readers of the site. Suddenly, GoFundMe (name seems to have new meaning) stopped these transactions, which had already been removed from donors bank accounts. They looked me up, I suppose, and didn't like what they found.

[Passage deleted.]

When it happened, it felt like I was being drowned, after being mugged and gaslit, or maybe vice versa. They sent me some pompous proclamation of my thought crimes.

I felt extremely violated and stressed and wrote about it at the site, whereupon somebody informed me GoFundMe was founded by two men who apparently were orthodox about HIV/AIDS and especially “AIDS drugs.” I don’t have that confirmed but the company is evil for sure.

I feel it is imperative that the convoy sues GoFundMe into the ground. They violated nothing. That’s their money.

For crowdfunding “apps” to suddenly rise up and act as global Stasi, ideological enforcers of other people’s money from which they have profited, puts new blood to the phrase “adding insult to injury.” Adding rape to exploitation, predatory profit, deception, and fraud, is what GoFundMe is doing.

Please God, somebody, sue them.

Just now, I see the evil bastards have backtracked, under threat of fraud investigations, prompted by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and others. HOORAY.

Let me say it again. I hate GoFundMe.

It is a despicable thing, and please do not go near it.
Either be a bank or be a LEECHING crowdfunding app, but don’t be a leeching crowdfunding app that blocks people’s donations and sends them back because YOU don’t like the cause. I’m too angry to write proper sentences. God bless Governor DeSantis.

I love you, Cecilia, for anger at abusive behavior, for your level of indignation in response to corruption, and for all your goodness and gumption, which makes you say, "I hate GoFundMe, they are Evil!!" We tried to use the platform to raise money for fired health care workers---and were completely blown off by this group of criminals supporting all the evil and violence in our cities. You are right. Rotten to the core!!

PS- you can still write sentences, even when angry!

; ))

Truly they deserve rage, defamation suits, and no more customers.
