This documentary is so white-knuckle jaw-dropping.

What exactly is a soul, I wonder.

Thanks as always Celia, for your own profoundly beautiful soul.

Sleep angelically.

Love, gratitude, and peace to all.

Asking about the soul... Get the series of Books about Anastasia. The first 4 books have been translated from Russian into English; the others on on the way to being translated. I think they have all been translated into German and many other languages. Start with 1st book: Anastasia. The Ringing Cedars of Russia series. I have read the first 3, tried to get #4 but is out of stock. Look for official website.

Scott, I hate to be cold and callous but if they have the attention span of a goldfish they fall by the wayside. Do you really “fcking” care? You know who is responsible for the 2025 kids? Right. Parents. Nature (God) will sort this out.

As an Englishman he was my childhood hero, although I'm not so sure of his or any of our 'heroes' legends now, or how doctored they have been. I would like to think not.

Nevertheless I will always love the plaudit bestowed upon him; 'For scientific discovery give me Scott, for speed and efficiency of travel give me Amundsen, but when disaster strikes and all hope is gone, get down on your knees and pray for Shackleton.'

Apsley Cherry-Garrard's 'the worst journey in the world' , and Frank Worsley's 'Shackleton's boat journey', are simply riveting, As are accounts of Tom Crean, another crew-member. Such stolid steadfastness in the face of adversity are staggering, and if anyone fancies growing a backbone in these times, I cannot recommend them enough.

The iron will of a man from another era. Two choices: Certain death or probable death in a dory across 800+ miles of notoriously the most treacherous waters on Earth. And then he returns to a similar frigid setting and dies at a young age (47) of a heart attack.

I have seen this doc before. I truly do not comprehend the kind of men these guys were.

The absolute pointlessness of trying to saw the ice to gain a few feet is a staggering concept to me . The steel fiber, heart and will of these men is astonishing.

Thanks Celia!

Very good film. The book cannot be matched as a stunning “narrative” about the indomitable iron will and singular devotion -commitment not nearly a strong enough word to describe his, and his loyal crew to the end. Highly recommended! He, Teddy Roosevelt, they don’t make them like that anymore!!! We need another iron willed leader of men and women. I pray Pres. Trump will be 1/10th those incredible men in his 2nd term. Then we might see the darkness begin to lift.

Great pick, Celia 😊

Amazing .

To seek authenticity outside of war .

Elephant Island ,unforgettable ,the interior passage surely not possible ,after such an emaciating journey .

The 4th was no man .

That dark descent slide was toying with death ,infinitely .

Particularly interested in the black shales displayed - plenty of that in S Island NZ ,but the Endurance's crew drifting anticlockwise 1300miles north ;rafting kelp - show how easy it would be for a dropstone to hitch a lift .

Absolutely amazing story! It was recreated with the aid of modern technology even and was not as successfully achieved.

The boss might come back today!

2025 kids have attention span of less than a goldfish. Therefore, one should not preload videos or movies with long trailers. I don’t care who you fcking trying to get props to. You are actively losing eyeballs if your trailer is stupid and long as if this were the 1950s when people had time to sit around and watch the cars rust. Srsly
