And A Meditation On Campaign Slogans

The recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance was especially moving to me personally—around 12 minute mark. There was also prayer.
The two campaign slogans (on the signs) that were so simple, yet so resonant:
Kennedy 2024: HEAL THE DIVIDE
I’M A KENNEDY DEMOCRAT
I wish I had images of the placards, but right now I am trying to check out of a hotel room on time—Let me just say this about these words:
To call something a “slogan” is in actual fact to condemn it to a lower life form in the word kingdom. Usually they deserve that. But not this time, not to my ear.
“Heal The Divide.”
The word heal means something profound. It’s not “stop” or “fight” or “walk away” from. It’s heal. A true leader always tries to unify. Healing is life, saying yes to itself.
“I’m A Kennedy Democrat,” I got a chance to speak with Dennis Kucinich and praise his rousing speech, as well as the “slogans.” It was loud in the lobby but I believe he said he and his wife came up with “I’m a Kennedy Democrat.”
Now—in terms of word alchemy:
I have not wanted to go near the Democrat party with a bargepole for decades. But a “Kennedy Democrat”—now that’s interesting. The word “Kennedy” comes first and informs (instructs) the word “Democrat.” Together it becomes a new thing entirely.
Ok, got to run. More soon.
