Qui Bono? I always ask myself two things: Why now? And Who benefits? So in that light, I’m always seeking the “never let a crisis go to waste” theory of skepticism: What crisis are they trying to distract me from with this story? They ALWAYS have an angle; what angle is it this time, do you think?

I recall ('91-'92ish) watching a Charlie Rose Show (late night TV - little else to watch) wherein he was discussing with his guest (whom I don't recall who that was), in a rather open and honest way, the corruption, lawlessness and over all fallacies of the (corporate) government. I was far less aware myself, at the time, of the extent of it all, thought I WAS aware of much already; and had been for years. But I couldn't help but wonder, while watching Charlie's show: 'Why are you being so honest and open about what's been kept so quiet for so long?' Then it dawned on me, like an unheard, but felt answer for a nearby angel... whom just happened to hear your mental question; and makes your jaw drop open. To openly discredit the "system." And, then, naturally, provide the "solution." Which is a "new" One World System (to replace the "broken" one with a "better" one (when they created them both to begin with)).

But... these days people are waking up in droves; and at an accelerating pace. Any hope for acceptance of such system, in my opinion, is lost. But, one must also bear in mind that, though intelligent, they're also psychotic. For them, any lie works, as long as they can force it to; and that fact, IS their Achilles Heel. To believe your own lie may be "willed" into truth can return only one thing - death; spirit, body and soul. The apparatus may appear to function, for awhile, but it's ultimate ends MUST meet absolute and complete failure and destruction - due to it's primary flaw. Lies can not be built upon. Truth, is unchangeable. Hidden it can be, but never far away; and never permanently.

I simply cannot believe that I was an anti war apolitical artist my entire lifetime. All I knew was I HATED wars. Any wars, including artists fighting against one another. I didn’t know anything about this history because I chose not to. It was too painful, I guess it was my survival instinct that took over. But since 2019 I just couldn’t ignore it anymore. 🙏🏻 I’m learning fast now Celia.

Will they ever admit to the sabotaging of Carter's rescue attempt, Operation Eagle Claw? The "ill-fated military operation to rescue the 66 American hostages held in Tehran ended with eight U.S. servicemen dead and no hostages rescued".

I remember that time vividly as Reagan was the first person I ever voted for. However what's missing is the context of what else happened under Carter that the country could no longer endure: gas lines and rationing, a weak economy, the sense the U.S. was weak from years of war, Watergate fatigue and then Iran hostage. We were tired of losing...propaganda or otherwise. Carter was indeed weak by virtue of his entire persona. He was elected in '76 because he wasnt a Republican (and for good reason) but otherwise was not a charismatic leader. Reagan on the otherhand exuded optimism and purpose, contrived or otherwise legit.

I personally believe Reagan would have been elected without the October Surprise. Considering they tried to assassinate Reagan two months into office I have to wonder if he knew of the subterfuge before the election. Guaranteed GWHB did.

GWHB was directly involved in the subterfuge. I wish I could link something, but I have read over the past few years that he participated in meetings, and certainly the planning, of keeping the hostages on hold until after the election.

I cant get remotely excited about The NYT's acknowledging what many Americans knew to be true for a long time. It's a non-issue.

Had the NYT's propaganda rag sheet done a piece on how the U.S. through the CIA, which substantially controls the NYT's, removed Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh to install the Shah, then installed radical Islamic clerics for the Zionist terrorist state of Israel which had attacked the USS Liberty then I'd get somewhat enthused that somewhere in the halls of evil power something small had shifted.

This is, however, a non-issue deserving of a paragraph or two by the NYT's.

And I guess the NYT will come clean in 50+ years regarding Biden’s promises and long time involvement in Ukraine. Some day will NYT explain hidden agendas? Like blasting out of Afghanistan ASAP upon Joe’s questionable election and then turning around and launching us into the Ukrainian imbroglio.

Celia, I guess I don't quite understand the excitement over Mark's post. Do you see it as THE wake-up call for those who believe all that is fed to them by the mainstream, or do you see the NYT article as being that?

Cheryl, I am prone to hyperbole, but for all it contains about propaganda operations going back over the past century, for its interpretative quality—I gave it the 2023 prize, which is just me saying: "Please read this."

Expand full comment

Cheryl, I changed the title to be less hyperbolic. What do you think?

Expand full comment

I like the new title and was about to write: "greater clarity is always good," but I don't actually believe that, especially when it comes to desperately trying to make ourselves understood by people who have no intention of understanding us. (Sorry, that's just a pet peeve that especially rankles at this point in my life.)

I skimmed the comments on Mark's post, but they seem to be a mixed bag. The ones saying, "I still don't trust the NYT; there must be a play here" echo my sentiments most closely. Then there's that fine line between being grateful for any bit of truth and being bitter over being lied to in the first place.

Question for you: have you ever read "The Rape of the Mind" by Joost Meerloo? I'm working through it slowly (up to page 51 after two weeks). I love finding books in which the author has written above his/her station, revealing more truth than they ever imagined, and this is one of them. If you're interested in how the first two lines of the book affected me, you can read about it here (it might be up your alley): https://cherylruffing.substack.com/p/ill-take-my-truth-intact-thank-you

Anyway, like Mark's post, Meerloo's book is an earlier version of the Mr. Global Playbook, and thanks to Meerloo's words (borrowed from the Gospel of Matthew), I have discovered that it's essential to evaluate and figure out Who wants to kill the soul but keep the body alive.

Expand full comment

Thank you Cheryl for the link and mentioning Meerloos’s book. I will check it out. And thank you for your post as I can relate to your words/observations. I recently read, The Franklin Cover-Up (search PDF version -free). Very disturbing. Maybe if people read it, they may realize evil does exist. These horrific crimes involving (participating) the foster care system to the military to the FBI and all the way to the White House are responsible for the horrific and unimaginable crimes against children for the sake of blackmail. I was naive and didn’t think this was possible. My eyes are wide open now. And it’s still happening right under our noses. I now understand why our judicial system doesn’t hold these evil people accountable and how laws are passed. Sex blackmail is at the root of the corruption.

Expand full comment

My eyes were opened wide back in 2017, but before that, here and there, I had stumbled onto things that were too much for me, so I just sort of pretended that I didn't need to worry about such things. I have looked into the Franklin Cover-up, along with so many other cover-ups, but none of this started yesterday. Elites have been controlling civilizations since societies first came into being, and one of the most amazing things is the continuity (familial ties?) among so many of history's power players.

Expand full comment

Yes, the family ties are very disturbing.

Expand full comment

Yes, the continuity of human enslavement by a relatively few families is always before us and quite well documented. But, I have good news for you Cheryl and Audrey, their is also and has been for thousands of years a few human family that have been working to release humanity from captivity. Bear with me if you already are familiar, the details of this is brand new to me and very few people I know know the details...

Recently I began a series of four books published in English in 1914 by a visionary, mystic and stigmatist by the name of Anne Catherine Emmerich. It was originally published in the mid 1800s. Mel Gibson used her visions to create the blockbuster "Passion of the Christ" for his setting and for inspiration. I mention that/him only to prove I'm not a nutcase (although, Mel kind of is...I digress). Anyway, a lot of work for our salvation was done before Jesus Christ was incarnate.

The first 140 pages detail everything from the Creation of Man, the Tree of Life, the Fall, the Promise of the Redeemer, the family of Adam and Eve, Noe and his family, details of many people before Abraham and so much much more, including great and detail about Job and Melchesiedech and Joseph of Egypt and his wife. So so so many people through whom God's saving Promise was being passed through; some who failed and many who were deeply holy and responsible.

My point is that there is a Holy Family of God that loves mankind and you can learn about them, too, if you are inclined. Having read about them I can understand more about the EVIL families and their ways and means of enslavement now. I know it seems bizzaro at first hearing. I am in my 50s and have been devout for 30 years and have done far more studying of theology than probably 95% of the population. I've known of these books and put them off because they are a strange cadence and not like anything else. I am blown away. I could go on but...praise be to God, He really does have a plan and we walk among both the Holy families and the Anti-Christ families. There is spirit and body. We are in a true battle against "principalities and powers". We have to use the right weapons for that kind of battle.

This is way longer than I planned to write. Sorry.

Celia, I just took another look at your post and reading this again, "I have mixed feelings about whether this deserves “praise” exactly. But when we are beaten like gongs with propaganda all day every day, it does feel like a dust-mote of gratitude, or maybe even euphoria, when they tell the truth for once," made me realize that I was just echoing, in my comment, what you've already said. Sorry.

There were two full-length books published back in 1989 and in 1991, both called "October Surprise" that go into detail about this. The first was written by Barbara Honegger, who worked on the Reagan election campaign team and also worked in the White House until 1983 (forgive me, but details here from Wikipedia: "Barbara Honegger was a 1980 Reagan-Bush campaign staffer and later a Reagan White House policy analyst.[47][48] Since 1995, she's been Senior Military Affairs Journalist at the Naval Postgraduate School.[49][better source needed] After the 1980 election, she headed the U.S. Attorney General's Gender Discrimination Agency Review under the presidency of Ronald Reagan, before resigning from her post in 1983.[50] While working for Reagan, she claims to have discovered information that made her believe that George H. W. Bush and William Casey had conspired to assure that Iran would not free the U.S. hostages until Jimmy Carter had been defeated in the 1980 presidential election, and she alleges that arms sales to Iran were a part of that bargain.[10] In 1987, in the context of the Iran-Contra investigations, Honegger was reported as saying that shortly after October 22, 1980, when Iran abruptly changed the terms of its deal with Carter, a member of the Reagan campaign told her "We don't have to worry about an 'October surprise.' Dick cut a deal," with "Dick" referring to Richard V. Allen.[51]" ). Honegger has more recently done excellent, extensive work to expose the hidden facts about the supposed plane-into-Pentagon event on 9/11/2001 (do you know that there is a person employed at the Pentagon who narrowly survived the bombing there and said they smelled cordite (explosives) not jet fuel; also the clocks were stopped BEFORE the alleged airplane crash. And much more. I don't know why Ms. Honegger hasn't written a book about it, but she did tour the country with slides and a long excellent presentation. Probably available on Rumble or somewhere.)

The other "October Surprise" book was published in 1991, written by Gary Sick. Sick is also a government insider, like Honegger (again, forgive me, but here is Wikipedia again: "Sick's credibility was boosted by the fact that he was a retired naval captain, served on Ford's, Carter's, and Reagan's National Security Council, and held high positions with many prominent organizations; moreover, he had authored a book recently on US-Iran relations (All Fall Down). Sick wrote that in October 1980, officials in Ronald Reagan's presidential campaign, including future CIA Director William Casey, made a secret deal with Iran to delay the release of the American hostages until after the election; in return for this, the United States purportedly arranged for Israel to ship weapons to Iran.

Sick admitted that "The story is tangled and murky, and it may never be fully unraveled." He was unable to prove his claims, including that, in the days before the presidential election with daily press pools surrounding him and a public travel schedule, vice presidential candidate George H. W. Bush secretly left the country and met with Iranian officials in France to discuss the fate of the hostages.[34] " )

I haven't read them, but I have browsed them. Honegger's book is getting rare; currently I see it on Amazon for over $90. Sick's book is still reasonably priced, but could spike up soon. They may be available somewhere in electronic format, but not on Amazon.

Strange how these books are never referenced in the NY Times article nor in the comments here. The mere fact that two book s were written back then (there are others more recently also), by persons employed under Reagan (Honegger resigned her post in 1983 over this or some other ethical stand, can't quite recall) makes the whole thing sound a good deal more solid even back then than it sounds if the reference to the books is elided, as it has been. This is NOT new information; detailed information, by credible witnesses, making this case was available more than three decades ago. That the media did not follow up but instead derided the question as "conspiracy theory," and even now make no mention of Ms. Honegger's experience is the real story.

For example, in Fog of War, McNamara admits the Gulf of Tonkin was confusion over weather reports, phantom radar reports, 'confusion', etc, and that his report to LBJ 'was wrong': https://youtu.be/HODxnUrFX6k , but no one cared after these revelations.

One series is called Trajectory of Justice, 2012, 8 Csses that changed America.

Sheehan litigated the Iran/Contra case. He was one of the founding members of the Chrystic Institute. The history of the case is fascinating, and of course, deplorable. He lost the Chrystic Institute because after more than 2 years of trying to get the case to court a judge in Florida dismissed it and fined Sheehan one million dollars for even bringing it to court.

Sheehan litigated Watergate, Iran Contra, Pentagon Papers, and Karen Silkwood among others.

No offense intended but I’ll pass. I’m sure that someone, somewhere, who’s primarily interested in making money or getting attention or to support their political beliefs can/has/will write an article or book with ‘facts’ supposedly bearing out any number of conspiracy theories.

It doesn’t make them true.

I’ve seen enough lies and half-truths in the last 7 years to know that I can’t believe anything without verification from multiple, independent sources.

I learned my lesson after falling for “The Devil’s Triangle “ and “ Chariots of the Gods” (as much as I hate to admit it-but I was much younger). Technically, I don’t think that those books qualify as conspiracy theories but they are close enough.

You can take a random pile of ‘facts’ and string together all kinds of plausible scenarios and theories, but it doesn’t mean that they actually happened.

Covid is different. We have gobs of evidence that there was/is a conspiracy to cover up the origins of the virus and the effects of disastrous vaccines.

We KNOW that we have been lied to about all of it... we just don’t know the extent of the lies or the exact details. What we do know is horrible enough (and needs to be exposed and punished).

There ya go. You can't find the truth if you refuse to look. There's a massive amount of info out there. From a multitude of various sources, extensively researched and vetted, backed up by official SEC and bank records, and declassed docs in 2016 and 2021. Alll freverntly dismissed as "conspiracy theories" by our own govt, of course. Most of these "conspiracy theories" fit together and/or build upon each other. 9/11 was the same as Operation Northwoods that JFK rejected before he was killed. To get public support for a needless war and to pass the Patriot Act...the beginning of us losing our rights and freedoms, that set the stage for what's happening today. The "anthrax" scare allowed the PREP Act, which was expanded upon with the covid plandemic. The Covid Plamdemic is an exact replay of the HIV/AIDS scare of the 90s, even with the same players.

You know where that phrase "conspiracy theory" came from, right? The CIA.

And we didn’t land on the moon.....except for the many times that we did.

As I said above, if you have a big enough pile of facts you can string together any number of possible scenarios and connections to ‘prove’ just about any assertion, and of course one conspiracy theory links to another, that is how the best fiction is written.

It’s entertaining but not necessarily true.

I have trouble believing that our government, filled to the brim with a mixture of competent and grossly incompetent people, is capable of all (or even most) of the intricate and illegal activities that have been ascribed to it. Linking the JFK assassination, through Vietnam, to 9-11, to today...... all part of a pre planned operation to take away our freedom ? The amount of planning and people involved would be staggering.

The old saying about ‘never ascribing to malice that which can be explained by stupidity’ comes to mind.

I just don’t think that they are that smart.

I am much more concerned about the problems and people that we KNOW about.

Domestically, the Biden Administration is using the Justice Department and the FBI as their enforcement arm against domestic opposition, and they are doing it openly. That should scare the hell out of every American.

Internationally, Biden’s foreign policy is a disaster which is setting us up for a war with China. His proposed budget only raises defense spending 3%, with real inflation (the result of his economic policies) at over 10%....... resulting in a CUT of at least 7%, while China and Russia celebrate their new alliance against us.

And I could go on and on.

We’ve got a HELL of a lot more pressing issues to worry about right now....

And I haven’t even mentioned the whole Covid mess, which is the ‘conspiracy theory’ that turned out to be fact.

As I said, all of these "conspiracy theories" fit together and build on one another, each one a part of a huge arrays of psy'ops, all setting the stage for what's happening today. You can't fathom the amount of planning, resources, etc, because you haven't (won't) look to see what the underlying truth is, and that's EXACTLY what they count on and allows them to proceed. It worked great with the jabs. People can'tcomprehend that our govt wants us DEAD. None of this has been a "mistake" or an "accident". The rabbit holes are extensive and all wind up at the same place. You'll never get to the answers or solutions of the problems we "know about" unless we understand how we got here. And many, like you, refuse to even admit you were lied to, over and over, even when presented with the truth. That was one of Stalin's observations. Keep repeating a lie often enough and even when confronted with the truth, people will STILL believe the lie. "They" aren't that smart, but satan is. Best of luck to you...
