I adore Super Simple Songs! What a great idea to learn another language by watching their amazing videos in Spanish. Hubby has been listening to cd’s of Spanish in his car for a couple years to try to teach himself. I’m going to suggest he add the Spanish version of Super Simple Songs to his tools.
I first learned of their YouTube channel 3 years ago when my daughter had their first born. With all the garbage kids programming out here, it was encouraging to find these sweet songs to play for my grandkids. Many are familiar ones from my own childhood, some are new to me, but they are all wonderful; and I admit I’ll play some of my personal favorites just for myself to put a smile on my face. Here Comes the Firetruck or the Near and Far song work every time.
Really appreciate all the positive and uplifting posts you’ve started doing over the holidays. Glad to see it continue in the New Year.
I played the video with four kittens (5 weeks old) beside me on the sofa. They riveted! Once it was over they put their little heads down for more of a nap.
What a great idea! That is a video where you have to “wait for it”. I really wanted to know how that would turn out.
Now, trying to apply this idea to my own coursework, I found this, which has a different twist on the counting theme. Another “wait for it” video. Bonus: there is a lovely brass solo by the sea horse, part-way through. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p51c5g1iNzw
Rachel, I enjoyed this German lesson very much and th brass solo by the sea horse, along with so many other details, was amazing. I THINK the fishes made it out of the shark's belly but am not clear if this is what happened. Can you verify? Did the shark sort of explode? If I spoke German I would understand. I think we have stumbled upon a new potential obsessive interest, and art form: Children's songs (with cartoon drawn videos) in foreign languages. Think of the potential...
Celia, this put a smile, no a grin on my face. Thank you. I didn't comment on Jan 6, but I was quite moved by what you expressd. I did not know you were there, and I sincerely hope and pray that you will not be arrested as were so many who have become political prisoners. God bless you and keep up the good work. Thank you again.
I'm one of those hard heads that need to see the Spanish words also, cuz I don't know how to use repetition of words in another way in another context. Does that make sense? I could sing this song sounding out what I hear, but don't know what it means.
