Shaming the hair salon is a good start. They need to know they will lose business. Wow. Here already.

Thanks for the heads up.

Businesses that have agreed to take part in this, MUST be boycotted ~ NO excuses. If they won’t serve us, then we’ll put them out of business. Nothing sends a message quite like hitting someone in their wallet. And there are still way more of us than there are of them.

Sue the salon into oblivion. Which may not be necessary once people boycott.

I left my gov job almost two years ago b/c well I knew what was coming with mandates, and b/c it's been infiltrated, like everything. I started looking for jobs recently, but I have the feeling I'm shadowbanned or similar, since I don't get many responses on linkedin like I used to, even with the 'open to work' sign on my profile. It's unfortunate, but I know I have to be as self-sufficient as possible in this new world. I cut my own hair. These are the consequences that we face, but we can't have it both ways, convenience and not playing their games.

CopperV,

I have a FB group to help with Resume Writing and LinkedIn Profiles. My help is free. Look for it on FB or find me on LinkedIn (link in my profile). I’ll help you out. You probably aren’t shadow banned. It might be lack of connections or lack of visibility.

If you link to me let me know you’re from Substack so I accept the connection. 👍

LinkedIn was MADE for social scoring.

I'm surprised that so many use it. It's pretty much like FaceBook. It's so silly.

Expand full comment

right, I agree, and it appears no one I see there is willing to speak up or know what's going on- they don't want to lose their jobs, or they're just not mindful of anything. Like I said, more people need to jettison the convenience of the system we're in, the MIC jobs, big pharma jobs, big tech jobs- it's not sustainable, it's why we're in this mess.

Unfortunately, LinkedIn is the easiest and fastest way to get job interviews. You may not like the process, but unless you’re willing to wait until someone knocks on your front door to offer you your perfect job, you either roll with it or not.

If you want help, I’ll help you. If you want to “right fight”, then I can’t help you.

Indeed is a waste of time.

If you want help, reach out to me. If you want to wallow in misery, I understand. But, no one will offer what I’m willing to do for you for free.

I feel every able bodied person who wants to work should be able to find a job. I’m not a head hunter. I get nothing out of offering my help except the satisfaction of helping you land a job. You could at least be a little nicer instead of shooting the person willing to help. Just sayin’.

In any event, I do wish you success in your job search.

Excellent! I understand. Altruism is a rare trait these days, as sad as that is to acknowledge.

My husband and I were out of work for 18 months at the same time. We worked for a company that took their company back to the UK. They didn’t know we were engaged at the time.

It was INCREDIBLY difficult to live through. We sold anything we could on eBay for rent. I was able to get some consulting work which was a Godsend and tided us over for several months, but it was short term.

I believe everything happened as it’s supposed to. That was in 2009 to 2011. Our families offered no help. We had to pull ourselves up by our boot straps and became a better team as a couple.

After we made it through that, I vowed to help anyone who was out of work with their resume and now LinkedIn. I’ve helped dozens and dozens of folks over the years. They all found great jobs. I don’t need anything from you except to hear about the great job you land. 🙂

"it's why we're in this mess"

Bingo. Whenever I look to see what's out there on job boards like Indeed, I get really nauseated, like, "Ew. I cannot even fathom working at places like these."

They are all the jobs and org structures, just different names.

I felt the same way when searching a few months ago. I'm looking for non-profits, but even then, if you look into it, most are part of the establishment- Rand Corporation, Rockefeller foundation, Walter Annenberg, Red Cross, Greenpeace, etc. Also, I volunteered for deliveries to churches and food banks, and I suspect a lot of these organizations want to sustain a welfare state. I looked into their board of directors when I interviewed with one, and they were mostly from other establishment corporations. The foods I picked up from Walmart and the like were all breads and cakes and their factory farmed meats. Hardly any veggies.

I recently started a very PT job at a housing authority for a town in CT. Very blue. Even though the ad mentioned the jab as a requirement, no one asked at the interview and I got the job. I think maybe this obstacle is changing.

Made the right decision not to mention jab status. Don't assume, or even hope the status is changing. We can't let out guard down, even a little. My motto is: hope for the best, expect the worst.

It's good you bailed. You'll likely have to really hustle to find a job unless you go back to a government job or a low level job like working at Starbbucks or something. Becoming as self-sufficient as possible and as far removed from the criminal governmental, and corporate elements of our society as possible are things every American should be doing.

Most of my career was working for criminals running Big Pharma although at that time I didnt know how criminal it was. I also did marketing analysis for a cool jewelry company, and community development work where I had to interface with hundreds of Chicago local officials, llinois officials, and federal officials.

I also worked for a little over a year in Illinois state government. I helped transform my office, and got my boss fired because he was a sleaze bag. I knew I would then be fired which was fine.

It was so depressing seeing lazy, incompetent, stupid bureaucrats 5 days a week for over a year.

In any of my job interviews in the private sector not one person ever asked a thing about my government job because most people know most government jobs are held by people who are really lazy, and dumb. My considerable experience on the inside of government but more so from the outside in at the local, state, and federal levels is that 65% of all government employees should be fired. They're not needed, and they are bad for society because they don't do anything worthwhile to benefit society.

Same in Higher Ed administration, though I would say 75% of all Higher Ed employees should be fired--or maybe 95% given their "COVID" performance.

*EDIT: Silly me! Higher Ed *IS* government!

My father has been a university professor for almost 60 years. Universities are run by leftist lunatics. He has dealt with so many useless mouth breathers in administration. I've dealt with many too as I interfaced with universities in my community work. Academics are a mixed bag. Some are super smart, and do great research. Many are not that bright and spew Marxist idiocy.

thanks for sharing your stories. Yes, from my experience, most were not needed, and many gamed the system, b/c they could- doctor's signatures to work from home b/c of vertigo, etc., coming in late, leaving early. It's really the contractors that do most of the work, and they know how to milk it, intentional typos/bugs, but the infinite fiat cash cow that is the gov pays them to fix the issues, and I'm sure there were agreements made... Keynesian economics, the engine to run at least this recession-proof DC area. These are the forces in this world, selfishness/desires or compassion/help for the rest of the world affected by the devastation affected by these industries. And yet, there they all are, drinking it up in their new restaurants and highrises everywhere, thinking they are badasses.

btw, whatever happened to that prediction a few years ago that the IL gov would run out of pension money by now?

Expand full comment

Yeah, the contractors who bleed the system are horrendous. Behind most billionaires becoming rich is crime, and sucking up public money. The Waltons of Walmart are the biggest welfare recipients in America.

Unfunded public pension liabilities are out of control in many states including Illinois. The former Illinois House Speaker was indicted, and is being tried for crimes essentially of bribery by Commonwealth Edison. Lori Lightfoot got tossed. She made some really dumb mistakes but was otherwise very competent because she hired really good people. I believe she was forced to fire Police Chief Eddie Johnson because Eddie wouldn't lay down on the Jussie Smollet case. Crime, and how to prevent it in cities is far more complex than the pressitutes portray it. Chicago is growing in population and many businesses are relocating to it from suburbs or out of state but public pensions are a drain on tax revenues.

A lot more than ‘some’. The Left and the Democratic Party are the home of disgusting. They celebrate and encourage almost every form of deviant behavior, they expect free stuff from those who earned it, and they want to spread their ‘values’ to our children.

I could go on and on, but (much like the ‘vaccines’) everyone paying attention already sees it.

I want to offer an idea of hope. When this thing ends, whenever it happens, the people with the worst soc-cred will be considered heroes. So, if you survive it you will be epic!

Also consider this: old school materialist philosophers are one thousand percent against hope. Whence you can conclude easily that hope must be good. Also love and faith are good.

If you ever find a glommy old marxist demoralizing everyone, attack him with faith, hope and love, and the dude will either tranform into a raven or a magpie and flee to safety, or he will melt down and wait to be mopped up by someone.

if you look at some of his other video posts on Utube, you will understand this goes a whole lot deeper. the government and companies have created banking and credit blacklists so its like a multiplier effect. This is sort of like McCarthyism on steroids but from the other side. American government and its benign democratic institutions have been taken over by a totalitarian ideology. Given the influence of Russian and Communist China thru the 'long march through the institutions', I would label it communism.
