This is GOLD Celia!

This is the reason why I cannot wait for the season to end!

And I should not feel this way.

Old enough to remember the true holidays…

Christmas is in our hearts….

Merry Christmas to You, Celia! And to each and everyone one of you out here.

❤️🤗

What a man. I just rewatched Shadowlands and watched the older one I didn't know about, the man seemingly arrogant and self-righteous until he was cracked open by love.

Hear, hear! It's ridiculous - I've been kicking against these pricks for years to no avail - why do I cave?!

Have you ever heard of potlatch? Did you know that the Canadian Gooberment actually outlawed potlatch for many years?

I hadn't. Interesting. As I understand it, it was an ancient ceremony inverting the spirit of giving to a darker "you owe me". How dreadful.

Love CS Lewis writings. A brilliant man.

We too are nauseated by the insane commercialism that is this time of year.

A BIG misdirection and gigantic imbalance on the true meaning and message of the reconciliation of man and God - CHRISTmas.

C.S. Lewis was on point with his analysis ! Christmas should only be for children in MY opinion….and conservatively at that!

Four years ago Krys shot a video of our Christmas decorated living room set to the divine music of Palestrina. Maybe you like:

Not much of a merry Xmas for the J6 protestors. Put them in your prayers.

January 6th. The hit song that cuts through government propaganda to reveal the real story of injustice, where the punishment never fit the crime. https://turfseer.substack.com/p/january-6

I sometimes doze out to C.S. Lewis's talks on YouTube.

Shadowlands is an outstanding movie regarding a period of his life about love, pain and the kind of loss that only a transcendent love can sustain.

Amen! Lewis is a salve for believers and sectarians alike. It’s a grave mistake he is not more widely read.

'Never forget the reason for the season'. And, 'Never throw out the baby with the bath water'(quite an expression that one). What others do effect me less and less the older I get. Maybe I don't give a s**t or that in everything I have a choice. Plus I learn everyday what is most important in 'my world'. Just leave me alone to do my thing, and I'll leave you alone. I guess I'm different. I don't get caught up with the negative aspects of this season. My growing up I was blessed not by the presents, because my parents didn't have a whole lot, but by family, the food, the whole festivity of the season. Even midnight mass with the angelic singing was cool. If I gift presents, it's never stupid stuff with no thought or feeling. If I can bake my famous 'raw apple coffee cake' for say like my co-workers, why not? To see the effect by such a simple gesture that costs almost nothing, why wouldn't I? Every single person I come in contact with, is part of my 'realm'. Why not uplift and encourage those that are part of your 'realm'? To do otherwise is naive and just plain dumb. Just a thought.

Christmas should NEVER be the ONLY time to do such acts of love or kindness. Just thought I'd mention that one. I take that thought for granted but some do not.

I like the works of CSL and I think his C hristmas S tultified is not off the mark.

However were we at the same Christmas gathering I would have given him a woodcutters axe and the proper attire (pipe not included) to go into the woods to bring back a Christmas tree.

"Better For nothing ,than for a nuisance".

Words from CSL as welcome as frost in a swamp !

At least then you can walk on it.

I stopped participating in #3 many years ago even when I spent the holiday with my family. I do not "shop". If I need something to survive I go into a store to get it and then leave when I've purchased it. I am not a consumer. #3 so contaminates #2 that it is impossible to do that either, although I do like to go to the tree lightings and festivals. That leaves #1.
