Are you aware that this "Carl Jung," in both voice and image, is AI-generated?

Celia Farber's avatar

There are Carl Jungs who are recorded—his writings, a Living man with his kind of accent recording. There may be more than one. I don’t find the recording of JUNG’s words off putting. If I did I would not have posted it. Hope that helps.

a-gent Roger W. Duelist's avatar

So, the voice is real, not computer-generated? That makes sense.

Then they only did a cartoon of him talking, and the rest is weird modern art that some people supposedly like.

I confess I often only listen to videos. I don't watch most videos because they flash bright lights and show weird images. Voice is better, because the media people have more difficulty in abusing the audience with voice alone. Images and clips are very intrusive sometimes.

Jung was fortunate to be able to leave a record of his voice for future generations.

Carl's opinion on this is somewhat true. However, when a person or child is traumatized, is by accident or design? We all react differently to trauma and have a natural defense. Those who perpetrate trauma on others are victims themselves and choose to continue abuse. Can they help it? Do they get possessed by evil?

I think they do. It is spiritual. Those who endure trauma choose a side at some point, even as children.

Those who choose good are scarred and struggle inside their mind. It is a lifelong battle against dark forces for all, but much more so for those who were exposed to evil traumatizations as a child.

IMO, the Bible tells us... that the world is evil and protect yourself with God's Word and prayer. In the OT, it says they sacrificed their children and polluted the land with blood. They still do it. It isn't any particular group but those who choose themselves over others. The opposite of empathy. You know them by their fruit, or deeds, avoid them, hate their evil, but also pray for them. FYI witches admit prayer affects them and protects us. They exist... many who chose evil and self.

Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

I find this practice of video-makers to be disturbing.

But what is in my power? I can only actively ignore it. They are free to make computer-generated videos like these.

Not my cup of tea. Never was. I do not like computer-laden movies, as have been heavily produced in the last thirty years. And I dislike them precisely for the computer. I prefer "real" movies, like Barry Lyndon (trauma warning with that one!). In that movie, there is as little computer-stuff as you can get. The camera work and editing is amazing, better than the story.

On the other hand, I also don't like Jung. And psychoanalysis in general. So, if computer-generated videos on those doctrines move people to start being skeptical of psychoanalysis, maybe that benefits me.

I'm fond of James Joyce's quip where he referred to Freud and Jung as Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

a-gent Roger W. Duelist's avatar

hahaha!

That's quite funny. Thank you for posting that here.

I'm no fan of Freud either. I can recommend a film considered a classic for the unique blend of genres and striking cinematography. "The Night of the Hunter." Released in 1955 staring Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters, & Lillian Gish. A thriller based on a book by Davis Grubb, about 1930s depression West Virginia. btw at 13 I am in the first scene of kids playing hide-n-seek.

The night of the hunter, good movie.

Wow. You participated in the best era of Filming. Congratulations.

I copied from the home page of Psychoanalysis: "Welcome to The Psychoanalysis, a channel inspired by the timeless wisdom of Carl Jung. Here, every lecture is carefully crafted with the help of AI to bring you closer to the hidden truths of your mind and soul — in a calm, thoughtful, and gentle way. AI helps us recreate profound teachings with clarity and emotion, allowing you to explore deep psychological insights as if they were whispered directly to you."

They make no bones about it, but you have to search beyond the presented artifice to find the disclaimer.

a-gent Roger W. Duelist's avatar

They ought to include an initial warning to the watcher, like in south park episodes.

Billy Thistle's avatar

Actually they're not making a disclaimer. I gave them emotional credit they don't deserve. They're rationalizing their subliminal seduction. Look at the language. AI brings you closer to hidden truths. It creates a calm, thoughtful and gentle mood. It recreates w/ clarity and emotion as if whispering directly to you. Yikes!

Powerful messages in the video but it feels deceptive that whoever created it and whoever posted it claim it to be Carl Jung’s words and voice. AI. AI. AI.

If you can get past the overproduction of this piece it contains a liberating message that can lead to strength and independence…

Thank you Celia - This is a metaphor for the times. We the people are now hitting rock bottom, and it is time for us to wake up, to come back into our power, and then create an equitable, sustainable, just world.

Speaking as a demi-semi-empath with stevia on top, I do not like Carl Jung. I also dislike CGI images, a lot. That doesn't help!

I was born once, from the spirit. Then I was no longer spiritually dead. I don't plan on being reborn, in flesh or in spirit: I've had too much of this human experience already. I also don't plan on going through a rebirth process: had one too many. And, unlike narcissists, I do not identify as God.

In the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus mentions two great commandments of the old testament: you shall love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. In Latin: ait illi Iesus diliges Dominum Deum tuum ex toto corde tuo et in tota anima tua et in tota mente tua.

The second commandment: you shall love your neighbour as yourself. In Latin: secundum autem simile est huic diliges proximum tuum sicut te ipsum

For me, these two commandments are very difficult. The first one is difficult because there are many great things in creation. Consider the Narwhals. Beautiful animal. Consider the passion flower: what a beautiful flower. It's easy to get distracted thinking in the hopeful beauty of the fjords, too. And in the dubious commensurability of the deserts. And the soul quickly is distracted by the thirst of iustitia, and the desire of libertas. And the mind gets distracted with all types of riddles.

Also, I don't like my neighbors a lot.

I was never a good rule-follower, and that's why I identify as a semi-demi-empath with stevia on top.

But in the Gospel according to John, Jesus says, in a totally different context and to other people, "as I have loved you, you also love one another"

In Latin:

33 filioli adhuc modicum vobiscum sum quaeretis me et sicut dixi Iudaeis quo ego vado vos non potestis venire et vobis dico modo

Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You shall seek me. And as I said to the Jews: Whither I go you cannot come; so I say to you now.

34 mandatum novum do vobis ut diligatis invicem sicut dilexi vos ut et vos diligatis invicem

A new commandment I give unto you: That you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

35 in hoc cognoscent omnes quia mei discipuli estis si dilectionem habueritis ad invicem

By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another.

https://vulgate.org/nt/gospel/john_13.htm

About this new commandment, it's somewhat easier to follow. Among other things, it establishes a difference between neighbor and disciple.

That leads us back to the parable of the good Samaritan, that can be read here. https://vulgate.org/nt/gospel/luke_10.htm

Again, in the old law (not for gentiles) the neighbor is anyone in need. But the disciples of Jesus were told by him "as I have loved you, you also love one another."

Who is my neighbor? I'm not a Jew because I have no neighbors to mind-control. Who is my fellow disciple? I have none, either. I'm not a disciple, just a believer.

So, who do I love? I hate a lot of people that I don't know personally. I don't even know if they are just acting. I do hate malevolence, and the malevolent. And I think they deserve what is coming to them. It's not my business to preach the Gospel to assholes.

Why do I hate? Because it clears my mind from moral riddles, and then I discern who has to be loved. That's when I go back mentally to the scene of Jesus crucified between two robbers. One died cursing God. The other died as a seeker of God. The former dies as a globalist, the latter dies as an individual who receives unearned love.

The people who roam this earth loathing the human race, the most important creation of God. Those I hate.

The people who seek God, and humble themselves, those I love.

What's an empath? Is it being skeptical about yourself?

Dawn B's avatar

Good post... We are to hate evil. So if you neighbor is evil, love him, but hate the evil he does. We don't have to be friends with them but we treat them with love. I had a horrid neighbor who did cruel things to others but when I went out of my way to be kind, they changed toward me. It doesn't happen like that all the time though. Maybe my actions made a difference or will in the future. We can't change the world but we can make a difference in where we are.

I guess an empath, but I don't like the connotation of the word, is sensitive toward others and we all should strive for that.

a-gent Roger W. Duelist's avatar

Mind reading. That's empathy. Not really possible

How to access other people's minds, will and emotions?

That's a question some philosophers have asked with rising intensity in the last six hundred years. For older philosophers it was clear that this project was too ambitious and even miraculous.

Today, they like to play around with machines. They scare people with this nonsense that "computers will read your mind". It's an aggressive game born from frustration. The best they can do is pretend the mind doesn't exist. Philosophers are dumb like that.

In reality, we should all talk about compassion, which is a latin language word. There is a bias against Latin: strangely enough, it sounds too Christian. They invented the term "empathy" (based on Greek terms) because they wanted to separate scientific research from Christianity. That created great confusion.

Leaving aside brains, and personalities, and preferences and biological hypotheses, a specific moral question emerges: should we be compassionate? The answer is yes, but many people have a crippled compassion. They know they are flawed in that regard. So, they try to remove compassion from human life. First move: make it a sciency/technic thing, not a human thing. Thus, they gave us the 'empathy' conundrum.

Birds do not take flying lessons from worms. Why should normal people with a normal sense of compassion listen to anything the narcissists try to teach them?

Dawn B's avatar

Well said Roger.

This is briefly how I see things in a nutshell.

I acknowledge our language was created to have different meanings for us and them and same with laws... land and sea.

Meanwhile, education is different for us and those in the club as well. I don't want to be in their club since to be in it, you have to be a sociopath and do heinous things and have them done to you. Most or close to all, are born into it and are raised as such. IMO, they torture their offspring to split their minds and have been doing that for many centuries.

They keep away from normal people because they are not like us and their ways are repulsive and unnatural to us.

Sadly this is clearly AI generated and as far as I know Jung did not speak like this. I say sadly because I resonated quite positively with the content, but knew I was being manipulated. I love that you shared this Celia, but I hate this AI shit! It is very tiring to monitor both my reaction and then decide how far I'm willing to go to vet the actual veracity of the piece. At this point in time most of the Jung material on line is manufactured. That matters!

blablavatskaya's avatar

this AI Jung seems to blame "the other" and promise "liberation" when you break your bad habit. Actual Jung was of course profoundly introspective.

Marion's avatar

Your comment closely captures what I feel. I watched the whole thing because many parts of the script hit home, but the AI images seemed SUPER creepy and disturbing, enough so that I found myself trying to look away (while still reading some parts of the text where words were hard to hear...otherwise I just would have listened). It also bothered me that the language became rather repetitive and circular, and having read a fair bit of Jung years ago, that seemed rather suspect. Is this a speech he actually gave, or did the site glom together a bunch of Jung statements on this topic and turn them into a "lecture"? Regardless, the whole AI aspect is really yucky. What bothers me about this and all the other AI "films" and content flooding the internet these days is that many people will think "Oh wow, so-and-so really said this." It's often credible enough to seem real that it gets conflated with what the person actually DID say in their lifetime, gradually blurring the line between the manipulated/controlled message (can't forget those overlords behind the curtain) and the true one. It's just such a mind fuck, too. The people don't look quite right. It's like we're robbing ourselves of the ability to see and listen to actual humanity by looking at AI-generated facsimiles of it instead.

Benny Jets's avatar

Take in what resonates and think about it. This kind of content is not about certainty or any conclusiveness but what may ring true to oneself and follow that path. But yes, always better to rely on actual texts or live interviews and lectures!

Aliss Terpstra's avatar

Phew! I thought I was an empath but it turns out I am not. I am just a compassionate person with a good sense of self after all.

Jung is crunchier, as I recall. less circular and paradoxical. less Wizard of Oz.

but it's nice to remember him.

Jung was a pedophile.

Really?

Do you mean that he assaulted children or adolescents?

May I ask, how do you know that?

I'm open to the possibility that all these philosophers of vanity and smoke screens were pathological liars and criminals, but I would like some good enough evidence.

I have thought a few times: what would happen if some new development was to make people revise and reject all the irrealism of the psychiatry/psychology industries?

Looking at banned authors like Henry Miller ,who acted as such wonderful mentor to Gerald Durrel - its these interpassive dynamics that drive 'taste' ; censorship ; markets .

Jung presented archtypes - but the art was better than I expected by such a conceptural prison .

Why thank you, Renata .

I have lost many thousands of hours making that site .

It used to be filled with QT animation - before Gates deceided the flash widget was too much of a threat for himself .(Light reflex much easier to explain with illuminative crystal microscopy - 'music' synaesthesia ,etc .)

I only started seriously filling in with words ( which are no help) when 2 students took it to Den Haag Uni - with the opdracht - 'I want the insects' .

Instead they gave me 27 clear minimicroraptror teeth - 7 of which I had convinced myself I was hallucinating ,since 2016 ;when Prof James Clark at Ottowa uni , no 1 hydrostratiographer in world- thought my <120Ma too 'careful' .He saw jurassic/triassic BEFORE the mini version T rex teeth were ,much later - 'caught' in the minimicroraptor's dentition ,micro scale .

The spider ,butterfly ,wasp ,libelle wing was only caught by accident -well AFTER Den Haag couldn't find them .(top 7)

I can only agitate for SHRIMP mass spectrometry * as http://www.sofiamusicschool.nl/movies/pldance/m2.html -mmr stomach contents 200X mag ,with flourescence hinting at gymnosperms 70 Ma years before first flower appeared - as too many profs in northern hemisphere ( where vast majority of fossils are found ,besides the 60% lost forever according to Benton )- have a headache recalibrating 25 other ,present life forms on the lage strasse .

For those who like to laugh, or, on the other extreme, those who like tests, I recommend the "Toronto Empathy Questionnaire".

embrace-autism.com/toronto-empathy-questionnaire/

Only 16 questions.

I scored high last time I answered this test (54). That's not good, by the way. Some academic psychologists argue that empathy does not exist at all. Those academics are usually high-functioning Narcissistic psychopaths, so I recommend showing no mercy on them.

I also scored high on the AQ test on this funny espionage website called embrace-autism dot com. In fact, I score higher every time I go through it. I deduce that the test is giving me autism. 😹😹😹

I don't trust testingology one bit.

I'm going to take the TEQ test now, and see if I my herpes virus infection is better or worse. I'll report back if I get a higher score.

Cheers!

a-gent Roger W. Duelist's avatar

Yep, herpes is winning in my cerebellum. I have now a 58 score!

I feel this test should be adjusted for the rising sign in your astrology birth chart. I'm a Cancer rising, so I am big on empathy by default. People with too much water in their charts should get a 25% deduction on the final score. So, 58 minus 25% of 58 is 43.5. I'm pretty healthy actually, and herpes is another name for Maya.

the empath may as well exist on a deserted island for all the good his or her extramundane capacities do in present-day society.

Real Jung or fake, and the AI visuals and music notwithstanding, there is much wisdom in this talk. It resonated with me in the way well-written "self help" books and works of popular psychology, religion and spirituality should do.

Of course, it's a bit over the top. And old farts like me will have gone through the wash-rinse cycle on this subject countless times. But for younger people and for anyone stuck in psychologically abusive relationships should get something useful out of it.

I don't understand why so many people have a negative response to this kind of video. What's not to like? If you don't like it, you are going to loathe the next stage where people lay on a couch and talk about their dreams, nightmares, fantasies and phobias with Prof. A.I. Junk or A.I. Fraud

Here's a song sung from the standpoint of a former empath.
