Joaquin.

Raw milk or raw milk kefir for another 2 months. Preferably raw goat milk. Cats are obligate carnivores, so you can begin to introduce raw meat now. Beef and goat are both good, especially organ meats. I'm surrounded by millions of acres of wilderness. I have four semi wild cats and they always eat the organ meats of their kills first.

Pottenger's Cats: A Study in Nutrition

https://www.amazon.com/Pottengers-Cats-Francis-Marion-Pottenger/dp/0916764060

I remember seeing all of the pictures of healthy and unhealthy cats and children on the walls of Dr. Pottenger's waiting room when I would be taken in to see him. I had early childhood food allergies. He was the authority. My Grandmother found him. I went to the goat farm for goat's milk. I chased a billy goat. I was urgently instructed not to do that and to hold an adult hand. I didn't understand why. Unfair...

I have been thinking for 12 years, "Somebody needs to name their cat "Pottenger." But that would be hard for Spaniards to pronounce so I can't grab it.

Call him Pott.

He'd have liked that, I think.

Clean organ meats, ie. not mainstream but naturally raised/organic etc,

Organs filter the toxins out. If not naturally raised the liver/kidneys are source for toxic properties.

Expand full comment

Your last sentence--do you think if a pet is fed liver that is not organic it could create a health problem such as a seizure?

Animals are tough... I cannot say definitively but if that is the only choice, maybe.

It's due to biomagnification of unwanted toxins. They are excreted from the liver and kidneys but not fast enough from the liver so they get stored and eliminated as the biochemistry allows.

A good reason that fasting can be an adjunct to better health.

More time for the liver to do its thing.

Thank you--that makes sense.

I nominate the name "Sassafras," "Sassy "for short!

As an aside, I loved real root beer, and it used to be made from sassafras root. (But as with most wonderful, natural foods, the govt declared it be taken off the market, saying sassafras toot causes cancer, back in late 60's I believe. My favorite drink back in the days when it was truly root beer. What's on the market now is mostly fake flavored "root beer" and high fructose syryp.)

Cute little guy--our pets have their work cut out for them right now--helping us humans stay sane in this crazy world. I believe they're fully up to the task, though:) What about the name "Felix"? I know it's not a Spanish name. I looked it up and the name is of Latin origin meaning "happy, lucky, blessed, or fortunate".

LOL!

I have my natal Venus in that anorexic degree of Pisces. I'm such a diplomat!

Mercury is also forming a Square with Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is related to Aquarius, and we have a New Moon, which is related to Taurus.

Also, a sesqui-quadrate between Jupiter and Pluto. That's always fun!

Not actually related:

Retrograde ejaculation occurs when semen enters the bladder instead of emerging through the penis during orgasm. Although you still reach sexual climax, you might ejaculate very little or no semen. This is sometimes called a dry orgasm. Retrograde ejaculation isn't harmful, but it can cause male infertility.

Expand full comment
founding

I think you are inverting cause and effect: male infertility causes retrograde ejaculation. Just look at the Olympics! ;-D

Expand full comment

There are lots of causes of male infertility. Some psychiatric medicines can cause retrograde ejaculation.

I don't know about Mercury, but some say "no longer a planet" so the problem is solved with terminology yet again.

Pluto is actually a group of five planets: Pluto, Charon, Nyx, Kubrick and Kissinger.

All are mythological characters related to power, hell, corruption, sex, death, decay, treason, murder and theft.

I'm a Plutonian according to some websites. That means Pluto has more importance than other planets in my natal chart. Astrology is just hilarious.

About the kitten. We are in the month of cats, because the Sun is in Leo.

And he was probably born with the Sun in Cancer, so he may grow to be very affectionate and protective.

Spanish sounding names with an "s"?

Silvio, related to silver.

Serventesio is the name of one type of stanza in Spanish poetry. Generally satirical.

Sarao is a name for one type of party. (Eskimos have many names for snow for the same reason Spaniards have many names for parties)

Solariega is an adjective for a house used for summer vacation (a house with much sunlight.) I guess solariego would be okay for a gato with too much sun in him.
