Alpacas are like small Llamas. That is an Emu.

I think Celia was referring to the emu's alpaca shawl, which might be leaching some unknown hormone-disrupting agent that's making the emu act like a member of the IDF?

Years ago, an emu wandered onto my sister’s property in rural Texas. She named it Evelyn. It hung around with the horses and animals for a good while, and fortunately never sliced anyone open with those feet. One day, Evelyn apparently became overwhelmed with wanderlust, and sought new digs. My sister never saw Evelyn again.

I used to watch that woman, too. It made me think life with goats is easy!

Less lethal than a cassowary but that's not saying much.

I'm so glad I live no where near a cassowary. I'll take bears and mountain lions any day.

I think Celia is a very busy lady and only caught a glimpse of the creature attempting to remove its mistresses head! She is a Defensive Queen and we need a dozen of her to defend Trump against the murderous leftist loon’s onslaught this 2024.

My brother in WI has Alpacas and he and his wife raise them for their really soft fur. I have some of their warm gloves They are like little lamas and sometimes they are very affectionate. But they can be pretty hostile too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piLzwSbiL54

She's lucky she doesn't have an ostrich. They are bigger and can kill you with a kick. If an ostrich escapes the advice is to shoot to kill.

It was funny. Who cares if it’s an alpaca or an emu?

Emu's are indigenous to Australia. Their backs have two large glands that produce and store oil. The oil is praised for its skin moisturizing benefits. Many lay claim to its anti-aging qualities.

I have a friend who brought back bottles of it from an Emu farm in Taos, NM many years ago.

The animal has to be killed to exact the sought after oil. They are then processed for their meat.
