If you think about doing something, and then notice someone ridiculous is already doing it, absurdly, you probably won't do it.

It is an effective way to upstage real protest and to characterize any protest that happens. "Oh it's just the terrorist-loving college fools again."

When the protests are real, you'll know because they'll trample them, gas them, debank them, jail them forever without trials, etc., like 1/6ers and the Canadian trucker protestors.

UCLA clashes: Pro-Palestinian protesters attacked by Israel supporters

A demonstration against Israel’s war on Gaza at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) turned violent when a vigilante pro-Israel mob attacked a solidarity encampment occupied by peaceful pro-Palestinian protesters.

Witnesses said the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) only intervened after nearly four hours of the attacks, which started overnight into Wednesday when masked pro-Israel counter-demonstrators, who appeared in their hundreds from outside the university campus, hurled fireworks into the encampment.

The attackers, carrying Israeli flags, then tried to tear down the pro-Palestinian camp, assaulting students with pepper spray, sticks, stones and metal fencing. Police stood by, failing to protect students, who re-commandeered the metal fencing thrown at them to shield themselves, said Joey Scott, an investigative journalist speaking to Al Jazeera from the scene.

Before the police arrived, a group reportedly piled on one person who lay on the ground, kicking and beating them until others pulled them out of the scrum.

Eventually, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued a statement on X early on Wednesday morning that police were responding to requests for support from the UCLA administration...

..[Culprits not named, I note, just "the encampment".] “Horrific acts of violence occurred at the encampment tonight and we immediately called law enforcement for mutual aid support,” Mary Osako, a senior UCLA official, told the campus newspaper the Daily Bruin.

Reporting from Los Angeles, Al Jazeera’s Rob Reynolds said the student protesters had stood their ground. The number of injured was not yet known, but reports on social media indicated that some people have been led away with injuries, he said, as he described the “really shocking and ugly scene of violence”.

The vigilante mob appeared to come from outside the campus. “They appear to be all largely people who are not of student age and they’re not from the UCLA campus, but what they’re doing is trying to harass and attack the pro-Palestinian demonstrators,” said Reynolds.

Bass called the violence “absolutely abhorrent and inexcusable”. [But WHO did it, Karen?]

The antiwar group said that “law enforcement simply stood at the edge of the lawn and refused to budge as we screamed for their help. The only means of protection we had was each other” as the attack went on for more than seven hours. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/5/1/ucla-clashes-pro-palestinian-protesters-attacked-by-israel-supporters

Investing in the Strategy-of-Tension ... Is George Soros behind anti-Israel protests in Columbia, other US universities?

The cash from Soros and his associations has been key to the protests in Columbia University. At the Columbia University, three groups set up the tent city last Wednesday. These groups are Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), and Within Our Lifetime...

..The SJP termed the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel as "a historic win". The SJP reportedly received $300,000 from Soros' Open Society Foundations since 2017 and also took in $355,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund since 2019, as per media reports. The Rockefeller Brothers fund is chaired by Joseph Pierson and includes David Rockefeller Jr, a fourth-generation member of the oil dynasty, on its board of directors...

..At three of these colleges, protests against Israel are being encouraged by radicals who are "fellows" of a Soros-funded group called the US Campaign for Palestine Rights (USCPR). At an encampment in Columbia University, protesting students were seen using tents reportedly purchased from Amazon and getting pizzas and sipping coffee from Dunkin', complimentary sandwiches from Pret a Manger, organic tortilla chips and rotisserie chickens, as per the report.

The USCPR gives around $7,800 to its community-based fellows and an amount of $2,800 and $3,660 to its campus-based fellows for spending 8 hours a week to organise "campaigns led by Palestinian organisations." https://www.businesstoday.in/world/us/story/is-george-soros-behind-anti-israel-pro-palestine-protests-in-columbia-other-us-universities-heres-what-we-know-so-far-427241-2024-04-28

Which they are doing--enlisting NYPD, LAPD and Highway Patrol (in California) to not only go in by force to end the protests but to prosecute these kids for serious crimes like breaking and entering and burglary (not just trespassing). Give me a break. I would have liked to have seen just a little of this during the George Floyd riots which ended with about 50 murders directly resulting. Never heard a peep about that.

Yep, we've got used to protests being funded and organised by the Empire itself; for propaganda that we're all in it together (clapping for the NHS during 'covid'), to deliberately annoy, have the opposite effect to intended and to protect profits for fossil fuels and animal ag (Just Stop Oil,Extinction Rebellion, Insulate Britain), so that industry can continue to get subsidies to pollute or to scupper an opposition party (EU farmers protests, Stop Ulez) and to create more division not less (BLM).

The fact most of the commenters here are trashing the college kids at Columbia is a bad sign. It seems that for every two steps forward the enlightened antiestblishmnet, anit-war demo makes, they take one step backward as in this case. When I was one of the organizers of the Columbia University strike of 1972, we in CAIM and VVAW heard the same reacitonary bullshit from the establishment. One 50-something year old passerby shouted at me to act more civilly. To which I replied "fuck you ...when you stop bombing Laos, I promise to behave."

Remember these are kids with raging hormones who finally feel they can rebel against something of substantive value instead of parenthetical pronouns and the rest of the agenda they were brainwashed into supporting. The fact that they are willing to take risks – and being booted from an Ivy league school is a risk I bet that many of the whiners here wouldn't take should be viewed by all of us as positive and extemely encouraging.

So let's view these demos as a dramatic emancipation of college youth from the woke straight jacket that was placed on them rather than nitpicking and regarding it in the usual way old farts respond to rebellion – poorly.

I am not doubting your friend, but I would not be surprised if the ruling class mafia has hijacked a few of these protests (in NY--always only in NY) in order to get the country on track with the Zionist agenda.

Israel and the U.S. are massacring ordinary citizens with a forced agenda- and strategized attack to begin with— to annihilate and entire culture and destroy the Arab community--which they have been consistently working on for decades. They are indeed cherry picking examples (who knows if they are “real” either) of “paid” protestors. The elephant in the room is that not one journalist- on any conservative radio or cable show—is presenting the other side, despite the tens of thousands of men, women and children massacred.

Why? Because it's a direct, mockingbird media agenda and we don't have a 9/11 to get people on board with mass murder. But the Palestinian cause has been deemed ILLEGITIMATE. Support Israel or be cancelled, period. Support mass murder or else! Every time we see this kind of organized and relentless propaganda, like we did with “Covid” it should raise our antenna. I listen to KABC talk radio and the discussion has pivoted- nothing BUT “protestors bad” from every show, back to back. Exact same talking points, exact same level of outrage, except as of Monday, the topic hijacks the entire show(s). It hit me like a ton of bricks.

This totally reminds me of deep state puppet Netanyahu's sacrifice of his own people to start a war. To him they were just collateral damage as are the Palestinians. Did you notice how Hamas showed up to the border at just the right time with video cameras rolling, flip flops, and thongs ready for an intense battle?? Staged like they already KNEW the most secure border in the world would be wide open. Just like Biden and Trudeau, he will soon collect his 30 pieces of silver for a job well done from his deep state puppet masters. Egypt warned him at least 5 days before there would be a um "surprise" attack. Let's see how surprised he really was. "Anyone who wants to thwart (prevent) the formation of a Palestinian state should support bolster Hamas and financially aid them. It's part of our strategy." - Benjamin Netanyahu to his own Likud party Knesset members in March 2019.

The actors and puppets are on stage for all the world to see. A little more research will reveal who created Hamas but I am sure you won't be surprised. Order Out of Chaos is their motto.

It would serve the Israeli gubmint's plans very neatly to stage Oct 7 as a false flag, as a premise to genocide the Palestinian people and "clear" them off the land and finish taking it from them. And, Netanyahu had already demonstrated numerous times previously that he doesn't give a damn about the Israeli people. What's one more when the prize is ripe for the taking?

"Yes, these protests are fake." That's an extreme position. When I went to Ottawa University (Canada) in the 90s, Palestine/Israel was the most contentious topic on campus. Over the years, this continued on campuses like McGill University. During the Truckers' Convoy protests, there were MANY issues. We were concerned about the leadership, agent provocateurs etc. Many on our side claimed that it would be used as a pretext to worsen the encroaching fascism. To some extent, they were correct, our quisling PM invoked the Emergencies Act. So, what's the solution? IF we don't agree, that the right to protest is sacrosanct, we are ALL in big trouble in the West. The crimes underway in Gaza are so heinous that every American should be on the streets right now. protesting their government's active role in the slaughter of innocents. The cause is paramount. Columbia U students referred to Hind Rajab, may her name never be forgotten. Do you really think none of these students are there for sincere reasons? I personally know some of them, and since October they were doxed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQeDZktRiIg

On The Jimmy Dore show a guest said the reason why the protests don't have as much violence is because these are upper middle class kids. They're over reacting anyway because it's obvious that a genocide is unacceptable!

Wearing masks not for covid but to not get identified easily.

The "free" states Texas and Florida opened their wings and locked down protests with new anti semitism laws 😂.

I think these protests are hitting the academic libs hard and splitting them like the tea party lead to the freedom caucus.

Agree, but remember, most successful revolutions and movements are lead by upper middle class – from the French Revolution to the Cuban.

All led by occultist, Masons, internationalists.

Great point! If the upper class wants human rights we will get it.

For decades we had fake human rights with the rigged veto power of the security council Mafia at the UN. I was amazed at how many intelligent colleagues didn't think that was a problem, as if America was "good".

Different now.

I agree, & it isn't just the privileged Ivies. They came in like gangbusters at City College, much less publicity. All over CUNY, police presence, similar kinds of lockdown rules for entrance as during the plandemic.

Oh wow, isn't that a community school?

Perhaps that's why they went gangbusters there instead of at the ivy leagues that charge 30k+ a semester.

Gilbert Doctorow attended Columbia U. Shades of 1968: The New York police assault on Columbia University demonstrators

Yesterday’s NYPD storming of Hamilton Hall on the Columbia University campus which had been occupied by student demonstrators protesting Israeli genocide in Gaza has brought the clash between America’s non-academic, pro-Washington narrative university administrators and its more idealistic students to the attention of global media. After taking the building, the police arrested the demonstrators and, before television cameras, paraded them off, wrists bound, to waiting buses for dispatch to jail.

As an alumnus of Columbia who entered graduate school there in the months following similar, shall we say, revolutionary developments in the student body in the spring of 1968, I take special interest in this development...

..At that time, much of the Columbia faculty sided with the retrograde administration, as I saw in my own department, Russian history. My academic advisor, Leopold Haimson, a leading scholar on the Menshevik movement and closet Marxist himself, was aghast at being in the midst of a real bottom-up revolution and sided with the administrators...

..That Republicans and other political conservatives with their all-in support for Israel whatever it does would uniformly condemn the students as ‘anti-Semites’ is obvious. [Not PCR, though.] For their part, Liberals are split on the issue... Many are saying out loud that attempts to instill uniformity of thought on the Israeli question destroy the underlying principles of higher education grounded in diversity of views and civilized public debate...

..I call for a time out to reflect on the destruction of the social sciences and humanities on American campuses that did not start yesterday but goes back in time at least 15 years. This passes unnoticed by our Liberals because it clashes with their own political correctness that acknowledges no other views than their own on the given subject. I have in mind the anti-Putin, anti-Russian doctrine that totally captured university policies on free speech when Washington launched its Information War on Russia...

..If you dared to pose a question in the time allotted for “discussion” that showed some variance from this consensus, you were immediately denounced as a ‘stooge of Putin.’ In effect, this institution of higher learning had descended to the level of a kindergarten.

From following developments on campus ever since from the weekly program announcements of the Harriman, it is crystal clear that the situation with respect to freedom of speech and thought on the subject of Russia has only gotten worse...

..Until and unless I see a sobering up of our universities from their intoxication with Russophobia, I will not believe that freedom of speech on campus has been restored, whatever the outcome of the present confrontations over Israeli genocide.

But who knows? Perhaps someone among the present day rebels will move beyond outrage over 34,000 murdered Palestinians and consider the possibility of hundreds of millions of dead civilians globally including in the good old U.S. of A. should the present clash in Ukraine be allowed to escalate to WWIII. https://gilbertdoctorow.com/2024/05/01/shades-of-1968-the-new-york-police-assault-on-columbia-university-demonstrators/

Gen Z support for Hamas increases six percent in one month

In a survey conducted earlier this month, respondents were questioned about the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. The poll aimed to determine whom respondents support more in the war, and it found that individuals within Gen Z, aged between 18 and 24, are increasingly showing support for Hamas. The poll results also indicated that 43 percent of respondents in this age category voiced support for Hamas, compared to 57 percent who backed "Israel".

In March, a similar survey conducted by Harvard CAPS-Harris revealed that 37 percent of respondents from Generation Z expressed support for Hamas, while 63 percent backed "Israel".

It's noteworthy that these polls indicate a six percent increase in support for Hamas within just one month and a six percent decrease in support for "Israel". This suggests a significant shift in sentiment toward the Palestinian Resistance faction among respondents, highlighting a growing endorsement of Hamas amid the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/gen-z-support-for-hamas-increases-six-percent-in-one-month

Huh, I knew it. Ever since 10/7, which I know beyond even a shadow of a doubt, was a 9/11 style False Flag Operation, I figured this whole Israel/Gaza/Hamas thing is being deliberately contrived for nefarious purposes. Some of which might be:

1) The large gas fields under Gaza

2) Israel's territorial expansion

3) Setup for another Middle East War --> Global Energy Crisis & Iran Invasion

4) Distract from their REAL #1 goal of War with Russia, absorbing Russia into the WEF/Bankster led Borg. This will isolate China making the World their 100% owned property

5) Distract from provoking Nuclear War with Russia, what better way to usher in the New World Order, especially when our REAL leaders are Malthusians and happily want most of us serfs dead.

6) Distract from any effort at Covid & Covid Jabs reparations

7) Good excuse to usher in more Draconian Police State Totalitarian laws like Censorship, Internet controls, CBDCs, Identity Cards

8) Distract from their Globalist W.H.O. UN Agenda 2030 operation

9) Create division among those on the left and the right who found common ground in their rejection of the Covid narrative.

Yes and all at the expense of 100,000 nameless, faceless humans. Pick a side or be castrated! And it has to be the correct side--Israel/US. Just like with covid vaccines, it needs to sell to the left and right equally--hence the "Soros" propaganda. I find it incredible that not one of them talks about the level of directed massacre that is occurring.

I agree with you Smith FS. Well said. I wrote an article back in October listing some of the very same points you make... espeically the main point that the Zionist histrionics and falsified sexual incidents being reported immediately after October 7th were just casus belli for war with Iran and a consequent tactical nuclear war with Russia.

From last October, and going back for years. Netanyahu et.al. funded Hamas for decades. "Strategy-of-tension". Soros funneled $15m to groups behind pro-Hamas protests

The New York Post found that Soros money supports groups that "justified Hamas' bloody attacks." https://www.jns.org/soros-funneled-15m-to-groups-behind-pro-hamas-protests/

They have erected barriers and placed guards, creating makeshift checkpoints which require a special wrist band in order to gain passage. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/chaos-erupts-ucla-after-pro-gaza-activists-refuse-entry-non-allied-students

It’s really amazing how both sides fall this every time. These “activists” are professionals who have been trained and funded by “non-profit” leftists organizations like the Tide Foundation, Open Society, Gates Foundation, CAIRS, etc… Tjey fund “fellows” which is just a term used that sounds academic but it really means paid agitator for pet causes on the left. It’s the Tides Nexus. A network of groups with money being funneled through them anonymously to achieve particular political ends. The Feds are in on it as well.
