I would suggest that US imperialism is going to result in the final collapse of the US, and the sanctions on Russia are the key modality to bring that about, as the dollar reserve currency status is now directly threatened. Once that goes, the US falls off a cliff and inflation goes Weimar. Putin seems to be a player here to help bring that about, notwithstanding the apparent facts on the ground.
