For energy and mood, I have had great results with decreasing my serotonin by taking 50mg a day of diphenhydramine (same ingredient in benadryl) per day. I dissolve the capsule in a water bottle and drink 1/3 in the morning, 1/3 in the afternoon and 1/3 30 min before sleep.
50mg is the sweet spot per day. If you go higher, like 100mg it can end up boosting serotonin.
Here's one I used which has none of those crappy fillers like titanium dioxide etc. Most of the 25mg ones are tablets with fillers...
(Famtodine aka pepcid is an alternative to the diphenhydramine, but I forget the recommended daily dosage of that...)

The autobiography of British Lieutenant, Henry Timberlake, who lived with the indigenous Cherokee Indians for several months in 1762, revealed that the elders in that tribe were around 150 years of age and still quite active. He cited that even the old women in that tribe "do physical things that I am not capable of" - yet he was age 35 and 5' 9" and a VERY fit soldier. That's what normal health looked like. In another book, a British military document from 1780 reported that it was known that Indian warriors would STOP EATING at least 24 hours prior to going into battle and "would sustain that fast for several more days" - before having to send some warriors out to forage. The British would thus feign attacks continuously for several days and then would attack the smaller force. Imagine fighting in war for "several days" without food. That was not only normal for them - it was life-saving.

But we first ALL need to learn how to not eat after sundown. One cannot supplement their way to health if one is eating late regularly. I proved that on me. For energy and mood, I have had great results with decreasing my serotonin by taking 50mg a day of diphenhydramine (same ingredient in benadryl) per day. I dissolve the capsule in a water bottle and drink 1/3 in the morning, 1/3 in the afternoon and 1/3 30 min before sleep.
50mg is the sweet spot per day. If you go higher, like 100mg it can end up boosting serotonin.
Here's one I used which has none of those crappy fillers like titanium dioxide etc. Most of the 25mg ones are tablets with fillers...

The alpha diversity of the gut microbiota in the recovery state was significantly higher than that in the CDI state. Analysis of bacterial relative abundance showed significantly lower Proteobacteria and higher Lachnospiraceae, Ruminococcaceae, Akkermansiaceae, and Bifidobacteriaceae in the recovery state. When comparing the control and vitamin D treatment groups after eight weeks, increase in alpha diversity and, abundance of Lachnospiraceae, and Ruminococcaceae exhibited the same trend in both groups. A significant increase in Bifidobacteriaceae and Christensenellaceae was observed in the vitamin D group; Proteobacteria abundance was significantly lower in the vitamin D treatment group after eight weeks than that in the control group.
Conclusion
Our study confirmed that the increase in the abundance of beneficial bacteria such as Bifidobacteriaceae, and Christensenellaceae were prominently evident during recovery after administration of a high dose of cholecalciferol. These findings indicate that vitamin D administration may be useful in patients with CDI, and further studies with larger sample sizes are required.
