The most obnoxious mutt I ever encountered was my sister's pure bred Corgi.
It crapped and pissed all over her living room, was obnoxious to the point of growling at being pushed off the furniture and my sister eventually had it put down.
I told her, only half in jest, that I would have done it for free.
Even the most obnoxious Persian cat I ever encountered did not reach that level of obnoxious.
I believe the real reason for their popularity is QE2's Corgi Fetish.

Shunned those that appeared to him phony
But horses he liked
Though they had too much height
So instead he got him a pony
A story as short as a corgi's legs...
We had a corgi that used an inflatable boat as his preferred vessel for floating round the pool on a hot day. Always with dignity.
