Good idea, to match up prisoners with kittens or foster dogs. as long as no harm! Could be developted into farm or garden helping if no escape risk of course. Prisoners on the whole should be considered part of society and as such fulfill the duties they can.
I think there are a range of things that people can do to experience that nurturing feeling, including cooking or gardening, house plants. The dogs really loved having someone and I'm fairly sure they have used cats in woman's prisons before. I haven't heard about dogs, but why not? It would be lovely.
You are right basically. The sit uation in Sweden is below all criticism and we the citizens are constantly trying to get the authorities to act. But t here is something very strong counteracting, could it be some WEF-globalists? To me the laws are too mild as far as the immigrants goes, with us old Swedes it is another story, alas. All the same once jailed a softer style including animals and outdoor work would not hurt. Did not the US once have prisoners in shackles laying the railways....?

The nastiest most evil psychopaths are actually screened for the top jobs, it is deliberate. The biggest bullies working in mental health leadership when I worked there always got promoted.

Is this true? Here in Maine they have a program where inmates train rescue dogs. Nothing like a cat or a dog (or bearded dragon…) to bring out the softer side of a man! (“Who’s a good boy???”)
I couldn't imagine living without pets. I have two girl cats, Sheila and Minx, and over several years the boy feral I inherited with my house almost 7 years ago is becoming socialized and is now sleeping inside every night. I love them with all my heart! I suspect a lot of these guys in prison had a tough beginning in life and likely a lack of love and nurturing. Like anyone else they need someone to love and care for. So I think allowing them to have a pet is a fantastic idea!

Having been an advocate for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) and a soft touch when it comes to kittens-when I saw the headline I almost turned off the computer. Also-I rescued 7 cats that all seemed like nice felines to me-and was able to rescue them from the death sentence which was imposed upon them. Quite simply-the conundrum always comes down to how we choose to apportion the MONEY. And if all the Trillionaires who run the old world order would chip in--we could create cat farms (and other stray pet intermediary resources), and then we could wean society off the death cult grid. Most billionaires seem obsessed with money more than creating a world that works for kittens. Meow. [many apt complexes require paying a fee in the range of hundreds of dollars if a person wishes to have a pet. In effect- we also penalize people for wishing to have a pet-companion.]

There are also horse and prisoner programs.
