There was no doubt, before. After Lahaihna and so many other places. But it is still a gut punch to be reminded of just how Evil they really are.
I live 20 miles northwest of Boone, NC and two miles from the TN border. No county government officials cleared the roads or helped anyone outside city limits (I couldn't get into town for a couple days, so I didn't know what it was like in Boone). Yesterday in NC, county road crews were finally out pushing downed trees that had been cut by regular people off the shoulder of the roads. My 92 year old neighbor has never seen anything like this.
My spouse and I were fortunate - downed trees, minor flooding in our basement. Some of our goats were close to our creek that flooded and were up to their bellies in their house (goats hate even walking in water) and we got them out to wander in the yard and on our porch until the water went down.
Houses, animals, small churches, and parts of road all washed away. We had heavy rain a day or two before the hurricane, so the forest was 'primed' for destruction. There are still limbs falling and trees crashing. Everything is still wet and it's so humid. I tried handwashing clothes a couple days ago and they are finally dry today.
I got cell service, finally, two hours ago. Still no power, but I have a gravity fed cistern and propane so I have hot water and a stove top to cook on. Three volunteers from Winston-Salem are up here all week removing trees from driveways and cut up six big ones on mine (it's a long drive and steep). I am so thankful! Today is the best day I've had in a while! Morale is getting low around here
It goes to show that in the bigger scheme of things, we are ALL are pretty much “on our own” when it comes to any cataclysmic weather events like these, and working our way out of them. To be able to have enough fuel, provisions, generators to last a few days. You are fortunate that your fellow North Carolinians came from all over to assist y’all. On their own I assume, not at the behest of a federal government agency, which from reports I have read, are not there with any visible presence or assistance.
well, really, shouldn't we always be relying on each other and not the central govt? I think it's a good way to sideline them... and I think that's why they resist civilian help because it would show that we don't need them at all.

I saw a video on rumble yesterday, they did stop motion photos on the hurricane via weather satellites, there’s 3 incidents of green lasers occurring on the right side of the storm. And the path of the storm is rather odd, it went straight up the middle of Georgia and then took a noticeable right angle left turn in TN and headed west.
East Palestine, destroy 1000's of farms and contaminate & render useless thousands of acres more. Lahaina, real estate acquisition. NC largest lithium deposit in America. And always take out as many of the useless eaters in the process as possible.
NOAA’s hurricane tracker had it passing through that area many days in advance, perhaps even a week. No one around here waits on government warnings to do things. Certainly not hillbillies. They just didn’t think it would be that bad.

It is from a 2017 Timtruth video where the man claimed that there were private contractors who threatened his group trying to rescue storm victims. It was quite chilling.

Two people that drove down to Charlotte yesterday and today one that we helped said bodies in trees, all over ditches in major roads back. Something weird is going on here in NC.
