I think it was when it realised Bill Gates was actually Satan and that Bono, being his BFF, was probably a huge asshole too. So about 20 years ago. But as for big concerts, nothing scary really, just 80000 sycophants in a trance like state with infrastructure not meant for the music being broadcast. Small shows are always the best.

I believe that Dave McGowan was onto something with his 2010 book (about the mid-1960s artificially generated hippie scene in Laurel Canyon) “Weird Scenes in the Canyon.” I believe that all of the most successful rock and pop artists must be somewhat supported by these psychopaths. I played music in the San Diego alternative rock scene in the 1980s. My sense is that no one—despite much “talent” in that scene—could ever “make it big” without some serious soul selling to corrupt entities.
Now that I’m older, I don’t understand why anyone who believes in God (or something higher than rank materialism) would be involved in this industry. It’s so obviously a vehicle for control and not liberation. It’s gross.

Wow. This is shocking to me. The rabbit hole I fell into in 2020 just keeps going and going and going. I admit that I have been a HUGE fan of U2 ever since the 80s. Now I feel disgusted at typing those words. Funny though, I had this very, very subtle feeling all these years that Bono sold his soul to the devil. I have enjoyed their music all this time, but I got uncomfortable feelings at some lyrics in songs but just thought I was being over spiritual.
