And obesity was rare, I recall typically 1 or 2 obese kids in my classrooms out of 30 or so kids. And don't say it was just junk food, we drank a lot of soda pop in those days and ate a lot of sweet treats, sweet desert or treat with every meal.
We also played outside all the time, and were much more active. If it was nice outside, I was outside, riding my bike, or walking everywhere. We had like 4 channels on Television to choose from, no cell phones, tablets or computer's. Might sit in front of the Television 3 or 4 hours a week, not 3 or 4 hours a day.
And we all “played outside together” and not ALONE on our devices.
There is a WORLDWIDE LONELY EPIDEMIC contributing to poor health and depression.
I remember going dancing clubs a lot on weekend which was also a very social thing to do. It kept me fit and was fun.
We also socialized in coffee “bars” where we could chat and meet new people-
and now we all mostly stay at home ALONE and ISOLATED, watching 1000 channels+ on television, and a barrage of negative stream of cortisol inducing lies and propaganda news.
We are worse off in many ways.

I am 79. I spent my age 6 through 12 in a place called The Southern Home for Destitute Children. It was in South Philly, not there any more. When someone got measles or whatever (we went to public school), we ALL got it, we all stayed in the dorms, or infirmary if someone felt very bad, and that was that. Don't remember any shots, never get shots now, even flu. I did have to get a TB test for my first job, and had to get some sort of jab when I vacationed in Spain in 1973. Same experience as you.

Doug, as far as I know, the measles vaccine is not available in the US.
Merck has a patent on the MMR. And actually, the spike in autism didn't occur with the plain measles vaccine, but only after the MMR vaccine was approved by the FDA, released into the marketplace, and placed on the CDC National Childhood Vaccine Schedule of recommended childhood vaccines.
Once the vaccine is placed on the schedule, states can include it in its list of mandatory childhood vaccines for daycare, preschool and K12 attendance.

if I felt better I would comment at length. Children need the MMR vaccine: I have commented before it is about the AGE RANGE which should be examined. Vaccines also now are suspect.. since Covid so I am glad my sons are grown. Human beings do better when breast fed (the human colostrum is filled w/ antibodies from Mom) and LIVERS and other organ which participate in Immunology should be more mature. I think under the age of 12 months is too early to get vaccines but with day care centers filled w/ germs.. I don't know what the answer is any more.

To say children “need” some substance that has not undergone rigorous, scientific testing suggests a lack of knowledge about current vaccine testing.

He did not say, that it was good to prevent measles; He did not say that immunity from the measles component of the MMR was better than the immunity from acquiring measles and recovering from it. He did not say that the MMR was safe or well tested. All he said, if the only thing of interest is preventing the spread of measles is the MMR shot. Everything else is subject to discussion including the notion of informed consent.
Or perhaps he could suggest other ways of dealing with the measles if your child gets them. LIKE WE ALL DID.
He does not have to advocate any vaccines. He does not have to say that operation warp speed was a success.

In grade school, no one had a peanut allergy, peanut butter/jam sandwiches for lunch was normal.
We all drank homo milk.
No one was lactose intolerant.

FF 60 years, and what happened?
And obesity was rare, I recall typically 1 or 2 obese kids in my classrooms out of 30 or so kids. And don't say it was just junk food, we drank a lot of soda pop in those days and ate a lot of sweet treats, sweet desert or treat with every meal.
We also played outside all the time, and were much more active. If it was nice outside, I was outside, riding my bike, or walking everywhere. We had like 4 channels on Television to choose from, no cell phones, tablets or computer's. Might sit in front of the Television 3 or 4 hours a week, not 3 or 4 hours a day.
And we all “played outside together” and not ALONE on our devices.
There is a WORLDWIDE LONELY EPIDEMIC contributing to poor health and depression.
I remember going dancing clubs a lot on weekend which was also a very social thing to do. It kept me fit and was fun.
We also socialized in coffee “bars” where we could chat and meet new people-
and now we all mostly stay at home ALONE and ISOLATED, watching 1000 channels+ on television, and a barrage of negative stream of cortisol inducing lies and propaganda news.
We are worse off in many ways.

I am 79. I spent my age 6 through 12 in a place called The Southern Home for Destitute Children. It was in South Philly, not there any more. When someone got measles or whatever (we went to public school), we ALL got it, we all stayed in the dorms, or infirmary if someone felt very bad, and that was that. Don't remember any shots, never get shots now, even flu. I did have to get a TB test for my first job, and had to get some sort of jab when I vacationed in Spain in 1973. Same experience as you.

Merck has a patent on the MMR. And actually, the spike in autism didn't occur with the plain measles vaccine, but only after the MMR vaccine was approved by the FDA, released into the marketplace, and placed on the CDC National Childhood Vaccine Schedule of recommended childhood vaccines.
Once the vaccine is placed on the schedule, states can include it in its list of mandatory childhood vaccines for daycare, preschool and K12 attendance.

if I felt better I would comment at length. Children need the MMR vaccine: I have commented before it is about the AGE RANGE which should be examined. Vaccines also now are suspect.. since Covid so I am glad my sons are grown. Human beings do better when breast fed (the human colostrum is filled w/ antibodies from Mom) and LIVERS and other organ which participate in Immunology should be more mature. I think under the age of 12 months is too early to get vaccines but with day care centers filled w/ germs.. I don't know what the answer is any more.

He did not say, that it was good to prevent measles; He did not say that immunity from the measles component of the MMR was better than the immunity from acquiring measles and recovering from it. He did not say that the MMR was safe or well tested. All he said, if the only thing of interest is preventing the spread of measles is the MMR shot. Everything else is subject to discussion including the notion of informed consent.

Many seem to think if I am critical of RFKJ's actions / inactions, I neither respect nor appreciate him. Perhaps that's true of them, but not of me.

I was an ardent RFK Jr supporter, not an idolizer. I started listening ot him in 2020 and boy did I learn. Listened to everything he said in every interview. I love CHD.
But something happened. SOMETHING HAPPENED.
"Long game" does not, and will never, explain to me his astonishing turn around beginning with his comments about Palestine and his (to me) revolting support and alliance with the government of Israel.
Like you, I respect him as a human being. I am grateful for the knowledge I accrued about vaccines just from listening to him and his guests on podcasts. I loved hearing him speak of his father, uncle and the Constitution of the USA.
