Nuland et al should be tried for war crimes. They are heinous individuals with blood on their hands. Ukraine is a meat grinder. But, as they've said, they'll stop at nothing to destroy Russian, even to the last Ukrainian. Blowing up Nordstream is nothing short of terrorism. Not sure why this journalist is being lauded with 'breaking' the story when it has been known since the beginning that the US was involved in blowing up the pipeline. However, it's good that someone of his calibre has written about it.

Agree. Hersh may tie some details, and has had some credibility, but his work loses a step or two with the alt-news internet.

That said, I've come to think that the bigger picture on Ukraine (or should I say Ukraine is but a highly focused small part of that picture) is the ever present Full Spectrum Dominance strategy. Nuland has been repeatedly positioned to push this geopolitical venture in Eurasia, but the total picture, I think is a complete global resource grab. How Russia fits into this picture is questionable.

The trade that continues unabated between Russia and the West (including NATO members/US) raises some real questions; particularly regarding the energy sector which fuels the war between Russia and NATO/US.

Remember as recent as Iran-Contra and the war between Iran and Iraq. The US backed both sides. According to various historical accounts this happened during WWI and WWII (and on smaller scales at least throughout the 20th C).

You can start a war either through false flag (psy-ops) or by pronouncing a "red line" that gets the ball rolling (or both). US wars at least starting with the Spanish/American circumvent the "required" Congressional Declaration or with use of false flags provokes the declaration.

My issue with the report he gave, which I mentioned, is his perspective is that of the US modus operandi (imperialism). This is not the same as his My Lai Massacre or Abu Ghraib torture.

This is an important point because like Chomsky these guys garner a huge following that never questions what these guys are saying case by case. They become (dare I say) a kind of gatekeeper. Giving some truth but omitting other critical points.

Byw, I don't think Russia is clean. They seem to be in on what's being played out. Granted on the surface this isn't always apparent.

Does anyone seriously believe that Russia will not retaliate at some near future time? And how does Germany feel about losing their abundance of cheap Russian natural gas? And the US blowing up these pipelines was an ecological disaster! And no one in our mainstream media (fake news) is touching this huge story…..

Whole lot we don't know. Last I knew US was purchasing a billion dollars of imports from Russia every month. Go figure.

There are loopholes that keep trade moving. Anyone who thinks the Biden administration is in charge just hasn't caught on to how power works - global power.

There's a whole lot of nuclear energy exchanges going on - much of it from Russia to NATO members and beyond. What's that all about. The same Russian company that produces the exported nuke energy, produces so-called Russian nuclear weapons.

This is a global exercise just like China now shooting down balloons after the US started shooting them down; just like the global orchestration of operation COVID.

I suspect the real enemy or should I say target, are the regular folks.

It doesn't matter how Germany feels. Germany - indeed the whole of Europe to all intents and purposes - plus Japan have been militarily-occupied vassals of the US since 1945, if not before. Europe and Japan do as they are told. They know that, if they do not do as they are told, they will get the Turkey earthquake/Fukushima treatment.

Germany's population ist to a significant portion brainwashed about the war in Ukraine and will not even take notice of Hershs article as most Germans still trust Mainstream media. Many still even believe in the COVID vaccine - safe and effective - hoax.

Russia, Turkey, and Iran have been working together economically and politically since 2018. I've been expecting Russia to retaliate since the Beirut Blast three years ago. I always thought the real story was that Israel blew up a weapons depot of Russian munitions on its way to Iran. I wonder if historians will someday think of the Beirut Blast as when the covert war went hot.

This is Russian propaganda.

Totally agree about Substack. Loving all the authors’ voices here. And, for the most part, the commenters’ added perspectives provide valuable depth and nuance. (Although I sometimes worry it’s a corral, complete with reading and comment history.)

Since Biden and imperialist serpent Nuland have pretty much admitted their culpability, was Hersh allowed to write this story?

He hasn't been much of a muckraker in how many years?

Where is Biden's and Nuland's admission? I have only seen denial (including Norway) thus far.

I'll credit Hersh for reinforcing what's been known. Since it so far hasn't made it's way Mainstream, it's like the many protests left untelevized.

I also found his perspective a bit tedious as it seems to side with the US thinking leading to the event.

Not his best work.

Thank you again Celia. I have to shamefully admit, I never realized how important "journalism" is in a democracy, or a Constitutional Republic for that matter. And you have such grace and a command of the written word. You are truly a gem in a field of rubble. You (snd others like you) have my undying admiration.

I distinctly remember the shrill screams of "Trump's gonna cause World World 3, unlike the kind-hearted and gentle Joe Biden who promised to beat covid and unite our country." Wow...

My question also, is why hasn't Russia taken action? This was clearly "an act of war".

On the world front, we're now being seen as weak on protecting our own country with wayward spy balloons and an allowed invasion at our unsecured borders but also as a complete bully to the rest of the world with the DOD "countermeasure" deadly injections and blowing up other countries energy sources to protect a very corrupt money laundering gig for key members of our govt and the globalists. I'm sure I missed a few other things the world could hate us for.

The WEF video is right - By 2030, the US will no longer be a super power.
