I'm not an architect, but I have long been a self-taught student of architecture. For instance, on my European trips, I tracked around looking at architecture. I sought out Otto Wagner buildings in Vienna, for instance, and well, the majority of my travel pictures are of buildings. I began reading Lewis Mumford about 30 years ago, and I also loved Tom Wolfe's ripping From Bauhaus to Our House along with The Painted Word. I have a visceral dislike of brutalist architecture and when I sought out Communist architecture in Prague, I found it not much different from American apartment buildings in the 70s and 80s.
My point is that architecture is the landscape of the city and it affects every node of our consciousness. It does deal with aspirations, hopes, imagination and pride. It is the statement we make to the world about who we are. I found few things as aspiring as Chartres. Chartres speaks volumes about the medieval world, just as the Place des Vosges speaks volumes about Paris in the 1600s. I've always been extremely depressed by tract homes, McMansions and Jack in the Box and Target stores. They seem to be the overse--these buildings suggest we are disposable.
Celia, you recently asked me what I did to overcome some of my health issues. I replied that it wasn't anyone thing, that it was a process. Part of that process was learning about natural building, the antidote to brutalistic architecture, to build my own cob house.
I'm so sick of this Rockefeller shit. Come on people start looking at hidden history and not alt mainstream history.
The Rothschilds and their confreres and brethren had amassed multigazillion power and wealth long before the first Rockefeller mogul was even born. As long as the next new crop of money men go along with the J power supremacists, they'll give you franchises, etc. to be junior partners in their programs. One friend saturated with cancer at one of the big NY Jewish "healthcare" conglomerates that they've solidified all the hospitals into told me scores of people coming from abroad with thousands of dollars looking for help whose money is being just massively vampired away into guess whose dark thieving coffers.
Genociding here, genociding there, genociding everywhere. Their 3000 year agenda finally on full court press at work, but they'll NEVER win because we have the 3 classic transcendents on our side: Good, Beauty, Truth. Maybe not till our great grandchildren's life time, but humanity is shifting consciousness at rapid rates now and the positivity scientists say all it takes is 5-10% of a population to make a critical mass change. We don't need all of us. The strongest best most principled of us can move that needle!

I visit Kunstler's "Eyesore" architecture monthly post, and he's always spot on. He's helped me recognize why I hate so much of modern cities. I quit a job a few months ago, downtown Boise was where I had to be ensconced in a cubicle for 2 years. The building I was in is MODERN, and the ugliest thing I've ever seen. The heating and cooling didn't work right, and there was "industrial" ceilings with exposed tinfoil-wrapped tubes etc. So ugly. In any case, everyone called the building "beautiful" because that's what they were told it is. It's UGLY AS SIN. I never caved. I even said once, "gee, this building sure is aesthetically unpleasing." And got really confused looks (the same looks I get when I mention that covid shots are still experimental).
I do wonder about Nickson though, as she's a fervent Trump supporter which does not compute, if she does indeed understand the political and ownership class architecture at the top.
Also very confused as to why it's still not apparent to all that Bobby Kennedy is one of the elites. But I suppose it will all come out in the wash.
There is a definite attempt to change the landscape and what we see. Gorgeous, symmetry, grand, and exquisite architecture is a symbol of God's hand, his beauty, and of the transcendent.
There is an orchestrated attempt to dehumanize, demoralize, and subdue people into a nihilism, hedonism, and disempowered state.

When I returned to my home country about a year ago I looked for weeks to find somewhere I could live in without going crazy. I chose an Arts and Crafts cottage with lead light windows and every internal door has a diamond lead light pane with 100 year old obscure Flemish glass. Nothing is symmetrical. Even the large porch is eccentric. I've got a bit of work to do on it, but the bathroom is done with a deep soaking bath and steam shower and heated towel rail etc. I wont go crazy here.
