Thank you Celia for the entire post, but especially for the Gregorian chant Holy Rosary in Latin. Beautifully done. Calm for the body, mind and soul, and I get to work on my Latin! :) God Bless!

Yes … and it is amazing how big pharma/MD totalitarianism prevents many from finding a deeper mind/body connection , which has profound salutary effects on our health and well being !

100% true. Medical Industrial Complex: "just take a man-made pill for life and everything will be all ok... (and they will make billions of dollars off of us too...). I think that is why we affectionately refer to the "health care field" as the "sick care field".

Yes, I used to do that a lot although I'm out of the habit now. There was a guy I worked with I called my "spiritual teacher" because he always managed to inspire feelings of out-of-control anger no matter what I tried for that not to happen. Although I couldn't prevent it happening I found seeking the privacy of a bathroom and furiously tapping would calm me down much more quickly than than if I didn't. I think just knowing there was a technique that I could turn to was helpful of itself.

I've never been one to suffer anxiety for no obvious reason but I noticed I was feeling a bit anxious a few weeks ago and I found this 4-7-8 breathing exercise from Dr Andrew Weil (breathe in through nose for 4, hold for 7, breathe out through mouth forcefully for 8) for 8 rounds (starting with a smaller number) which originally comes from yoga. I do it twice a day and I find it very effective. I don't hold the tongue position specified in the video below because when I first came across the exercise that wasn't mentioned and it works fine without worrying about it so I don't.

Thank you for your comment. With merit, the Indian ragas and other musical forms and traditions were explored, which I view as complementary to our western, divinely inspired musical traditions. There is a different, more technical, aesthetic, in chromatism (quarter tones) and rhythmic complexity, that when beautifully and effortlessly performed is often sublime. For me, my God is a shared God who has revealed himself differently to different cultures (but not all follow his teachings with integrity, which I believe is best represented by the core principles behind Jesus’ teachings).

As it does the most with me. I find over many years that the traditional hymns sung become familiar, and then transform beyond familiar into spiritual - revealing their deep meaning hidden by melody, harmony, and lyric. Time and repetition allow the form to fade and the core to reveal. I may be a slow learner. (Protestant)

I think therefore the form is less important - raga, protestant hymn, or catholic. The form becomes a pathway for communion with the teachings (preferably where the teachings align with a loving theology).

a strong consistent YOGA practice will clear any trauma residue Period.. PTSD gone.. The daily practice is similar to taking the body and mind like a sponge and ringing them out of any emotional deposits from any life experience.. that day.. It is when done correctly, the complete unconditional death and destruction of the KNOWN.. All that thought has created... Traumatic thought included... Conscious and subconscious completely cleared..

Yoga's practice in the truest sense creates an unparalleled feeling of well-being...

Thank you for that Judge-mental comment.. You completely misunderstood what I stated.. Yes there are many different modalities of healing and rebalancing ones Being.. on the Earth… Yoga when practiced in its most profound sense Utilizes the Best of whatever is appropriate for that particular Soul at that particular time..

Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Homeopathy, etc. etc.

One Goal of Yoga important today is to enter a state where disease cannot enter the body.. it can be done.. even in this incredibly poisoned environment with a Global Pysop going on..

It’s called Sitting in a Nest of Cobras…

As I stated earlier YOGA’s daily practice generates a State of Unparalleled Well Being…

Peace

Meditation is an effective way to relieve stress. Psychiatrist Prof Lisa Miller found physical evidence that individuals who had a spiritual (not religious) worldview were pretty much immune from depression. She has written two research papers about her revelations, plus a book, The Awakened Brain😀🙏🏼

I'm not a fan of Peter Levine's work in general, but I really object to his "Complete the Action" theory. What he says is that during a trauma our natural response, such as fighting back, is blocked by the body as a survival mechanism, because the aggressor is much more powerful. The body becomes "stuck" in this moment and so what he proposes is that the person finishes what they would have done during the trauma, but couldn't.

In practice, therapy also triggers the therapist, who is more powerful than the client. The therapist then unconsciously guides the client into completing actions that the therapist herself wants to complete (because doing so feels so right). It becomes exploitive as the client acts out the therapist's repressed fantasies.

Plus, it doesn't work even if you get an emotionally-healed therapist.

So vital, to release stress and trauma - huge work in this area, including EMDR (eye movement therapy) and tapping. Thanks for adding more. I want to be doing trauma releasing in groups, within a month or so. You'll hear of it. Something else to add to what we can do. VITAL BECAUSE WHEN WE RELEASE TRAUMA, WE BECOME MORE ABLE TO PERCEIVE AND RESPOND, REACH OTHERS, ETC. Changes everything.

A good way to release endorphins is to walk a distance either everyday or nearly everyday. I walked 2 miles from home to the UCLA campus 5 days a week and back home again after work which was on the UCLA campus. Then, on Saturdays I walked to pick up my mail at my post office PO Box, and then back home again. After a few weeks of this, I felt fantastic. I still missed my ex fiancé, but with my endorphins taking over, I felt great!

Peace,

Arlene Johnson
