Why are the images and the reputations of the royals being fiddled with and muddied? Because te British people love their monarchy. Because it's a deeply ingrained archetype that the King or Queen (regardless of family dynasty) the monarch is the symbolic personhood of the nation. It's not logical, it's mystical. This is why the royal family is being corrupted from within and without. Because losing respect for the monarchy breaks the hearts of the people. They lose their identity as British people. They become a territory inhabited by rootless migrants, a labour pool.

My best guess at the moment is that she’s dead, and for whatever reason, the Palace wants us to think she’s alive and well for long enough so that when her demise is announced, it won’t be blamed on her mysterious “abdominal surgery.” Just a few years ago, I would have called anyone who presented such a theory a lunatic, but that’s the world we’re living in now.
