Whenever a story seems to reflect people's feelings and pushes our buttons by default it is suspect. They cultivate and escalate people's feelings. So while on the one hand it may seem plausible as it reflects a certain feeling it still feels OTT to me and anything button-pushing I simply disbelieve, I can't help it. I'm so used to button-pushing events being fake that unless I study it and determine it's real I will simply believe it's fake - the thing is it makes no difference what I believe for these events anyway.

re politics, most people are clueless but think they are brilliant, so it's not really a conversation. It's easy to have vapid opinions composed of explosive gas and feel oh so good about it. I think that we must acknowledge how this thing we CALL politics has infested every layer and corner of American life, and the Trojan horse is the caustic and divisive nature of every topic.
But note, this (by which I mean the rage described above, and much else) is not about politics.
