Battered By Hostile Interviewer—He's My Hero Now; I Know Exactly What This Feels Like And I Hope He Has a TON of Protection In All Forms, Because He Will Need It, For Making This Film, In 2019.
I didn’t think the interviewer was overly hostile. I noted that the film maker invoked The Holocaust twice as a possible justification for Israel’s 1948 war crimes.... surely the penny has dropped with him that if everything he was taught about 1948 was a lie or a half truth then the same would apply to the one event in his story that we are literally not allowed to question
Alon strikes me as another well-meaning guy who has not taken the time to study Islam or Jihad. The most relevant moment in this interview comes at 14 minutes in, when he essentially says the reason he made the film is because he feels that to have a dialogue with the Palestinians, i.e., "a future of positiveness and peace with our neighbors ", Israel has to concede it has hurt the Muslims ... and recognize their pain."
This is the standard view of liberals and the political Left everywhere when it comes to Islamic Jihad and Islamic aggression. "We are the cause of it and if we would just show (Sharia-compliant) Muslims some love, and that we mean them no harm, everything would be all right.".
Recall that Barack Obama adopted this posture, showed the Jihadis more love than any other president before him, and thereby prepared the grounds for more Islamic terror attacks in the USA than under any other presidency - Little Rock, Fort Hood, Boston Marathon, Vaughan Foods, Chattanooga, San Bernadino, Ohio restuarant, Orlando Pulse nightclub, Ohio State, NYC truck attack, etc. etc. etc.
Note there was not a single Islamic terror attack in the US under Trump.
The point is, when you are coming at the problem from the point of view that it is your own culture that is the problem, it is going to terribly skew your analysis, your positioning of the facts, and any suggested solutions you derive from either. To think the chronic nature of the Middle East conflict is Israel's responsibility is to ignore the inherently unyielding nature of 1400 years of violent Islamic Jihad. It is the elephant in the Middle East living room that nobody wants to talk about.
Tom, can you please cite an "Islamic terror attack" in the United States? Would 9/11 be one? Did you read James Perloff's history of the USS Liberty, posted recently? Please could you just start with "yes" or "no?" I want to begin with the USS Liberty's true history, and can explain later, why.
Hi Celia. I listed ten Islamic terror attacks in my post above. Do you remember any of those? The most famous one was the attack on the Pulse Nightclub in Florida where nearly 50 people were killed. I post below, an article on it from Robert Spencer's jihadwatch.org site, written before they had even finished counting the fifty casualties. Keep in mind, throughout the Obama years there was a concerted effort to divorce "Islam" from "Islamic terror attacks".
Yes, I would absolutely list 9/11 as an Islamic terror attack, despite the claims of an "inside job". One has to really stretch to cut the role of Islam out of that attack.
And I did read what you posted on the USS Liberty, and wanted to post an alternative to that narrative too, but like with many of your recent Israel-related posts, I unfortunately just haven't had time to respond, as much as I want to openly discuss all of this and respectfully and lovingly challenge your position!
Tom if you are genuinely as clueless as you seem then you are on the wrong substack. Go back to Jihadwatch & stay there in your mind controlled state of ignorance
Many of the “jihad attacks” you list are easily provable false flags. Boston and Orlando being the most egregious ones. Why didn’t you mention 9-11 as an example of a Jihad attack? Is it because to any truly open mind that it’s the easiest proven false flag of all time? Or do you really think 19 Saudi hijacker’s with box cutters carried it out?
I don't have the time to educate you. This post is spectacular with its blatant lies and deception. The truth is out there but requires hundreds if not thousands of hours of research. I am a white Christian woman who grew up in Nigeria, Egypt and Iran. In Nigeria at that time, Christians were massacring the Muslims. In Egypt, I lived in the former home of King Farouk's JEWISH lawyer. All his precious belongings were in the basement as he had to flee w/ all the other Jews after Zionist terrorism and Israel's ethnic cleansing of the indigenous population of Palestine. During the War of Attrition Israel was bombing civilians w/ napalm - a favorite of the Israelis. Iran had the brutal Shah that the U.S. put in power after we overthrew their democratically elected President. What pisses me off the most is your damn lies about the USS Liberty. Interesting fact: The last call LBJ got the night before the attack, according to White House phone logs, was from his Israeli mistress.
The U.S. and Israel are responsible for most terrorism perpetrated by Muslims. My Muslim friends act more Christian than Christians I know.
It wasn't "5 dancing Muslims" on 9/11, it was 5 dancing Israelis. I bet you have a good story explaining that one.
The Holocaust, at the Heart of the Gaza Genocide , Thanks Eleni. Since the establishment of a Zionist home in Palestine in the early 20th century, Jewish settlers have massacred tens of thousands of Palestinians – mainly women, children and the elderly – whose lands and homes they have plundered and robbed with impunity.[1][2][3]
Never in the history of mankind has a race of people gone so quickly from being exceptional victims to exceptional murderers determined to exterminate the Palestinians under the pretext of recreating their homeland, the biblical Israel.
But Palestine was never the homeland of the Jews. Biblical accounts are not supported by historical or archaeological discoveries.[4] “It’s a romantic fantasy,”[5] admits Jewish historian Norman F. Cantor in his book on Jewish history, The Sacred Chain. “The whole notion of Israel and its history is a literary fiction,” says Professor Thomas Thompson in his book The Mythic Past: Biblical Archeology and the Myth of Israel. https://www.unz.com/article/the-holocaust-at-the-heart-of-the-gaza-genocide/
As I suspected, the attacks and condemnation of Israel are much older, much more perverted, and much more Satanic than I imagined. The seeds of one's hatred for Israel 's did not begin in 1948 or with WWII, WWI, or Balfour, or Rothschild or the Ottoman Empire. I urge those who reflexively hate only one of the world's 190 countries to R E A D Rabbi Marvin Antelman's (1933-2013) book "To Eliminate the Opiate" (1976/2003). In two masterful and heavily researched volumes, Antelman examines the seeds of that hatred that originally sprouted from Plato's Republic.
Prompted by violence and the social and governmental indifference that destroyed Boston's Jewish community 1968~1971, Rabbi Antelman initially linked those attacks and funding to CPUSA and other Marxist groups - and later (Vol II) connected those groups to Satanic Jewish offshoots of Sabbatean, Frankist, Freemasonry, Illuminati groups and geopolitical/financial forces whose actual long term goal is to destroy not Israel and Jewry, but ALL of the world's religions - starting with Judaism and Christianity - from without and within. Antelman connects dots that no one has connected for me before or since I first thought I understood the conflict.
It's easy to hate Jews - easy to hate Israel - millions have hated Jews for 1000s of years - but to fully understanding WHY requires a deeper understanding the Satanic forces behind it. The "Jewish Problem" is far bigger and deeper than the Kabuki we watch on TV or read in blogs.
It'll take me a while longer to digest everything I've read but, having read his books, I have a deeper understanding of what others think - what they feign to know - and why.
Israel is not the target - WE ARE THE TARGET. Those Satanic forces must destroy Israel and Jewry to destroy Christendom, freedom, and life itself. Unfortunately for our enemies, God has already won this war. Intentional or not, those who allow themselves to be consumed by this fire will find themselves consumed for eternity. https://www.amazon.com/Eliminate-Opiate-Vol-1/dp/1717749518
Like the Birth of a Nation (1915) and the Rodney King and George Floyd videos, I watched as much of Tantura as I could. Like porn, I recognize manipulative Marxist propaganda when I see it.
Horrific stories like those presented in Tantura also occurred during the dissolution of the British Raj within the Indian subcontinent (1947/1948), which displaced 14-18 million people and resulted in a far greater scale of cruelty, torture, rape, and murder of at least one million Hindus and Muslims who had previously coexisted peacefully for hundreds of years. The Chinese Communists murdered 60+ million. Is Turkey more or less virtuous because they only tortured, raped, and murdered a million Armenians?
Wars (i.e., rape, mayhem, murder, slavery etc.) have existed throughout human history. Despite the obvious similarities between the British Partitions in Asia and the Middle East, no one calls for the elimination of Pakistan or India, or Bangladesh or Sri Lanka, or Turkey or China or the other nations and people who've waged war against other nations and people for centuries or longer. What makes Israel so different?
Aside from The Bible, the archeological record that establish our Judeo-Christian history and God's well-documented covenant with the sons and daughters of Abraham, what EXACTLY accounts for calls to end the Jewish State of Israel by countries that have committed as much and more evil to establish their own nationhood? JFK deployed warships to prevent Russian weapons from being installed in Cuba so, in light of the Hamas Covenant (1988) and Iran's declared objectives, why shouldn't nine million Israelis defend themselves from Satanic forces that seek to exterminate them?
If one's contempt for Jews and Israel isn't about Jews and Israel, what is it?
This is why I read and now cite Rabbi Antelman's books.
We can look through Marxism's myopic lens to justify our ideas about "The Jewish Problem", or we can examine the totality of circumstances that have led us to this place.
YES, CPUSA and Jewish offshoots like the Sabbatians, Kabbala, Frankism, Freemasonry, Illuminati and other geopolitical/financial forces represent serious Satanic forces to the world, but those forces wage war to discredit and destroy Judaism, Christianity, and ALL other religions from within.
Rabbi Antelman connects dots that no one has connected for me before or since.

Where do you see contempt? I see history and human struggle.

The Age of Zugzwang , The Merciless Grip of Geostrategic Logic
Zugzwang (a German word that literally means “move compulsion”) refers to any situation in chess where a player is forced to make a move that weakens his position, such as a king that is backed into a corner to escape from check - each time he moves out of check, he moves himself closer to checkmate. More simply put, Zugzwang refers to a situation where there are no good moves available, but it is your turn...
..I would like to argue that, despite these many powerful emotional-religious currents, much of the Israeli-Arab conflict can be understood in fairly mundane geopolitical terms...
..First, Israel is an Eschatological Garrison State. This is a particular form of state which perceives itself as a sort of redoubt against the end of all things, and accordingly becomes highly militarized and highly willing to dispense military force. Israel is not the only such state to have existed in history, but it is the only obvious one extant today.
A historical comparison may help explain. In 1453, when the Ottoman Empire at last overran Constantinople and brought an end to the millennia-old Roman imperium, early medieval Russia found itself in a unique position. With the fall of the Byzantines (and the previous schism with western papal Christianity), Russia was now the only Orthodox Christian power remaining in the world. This fact created a sense of world-historic religious siege. Surrounded on all sides by Islam, Roman Catholicism, and Turko-Mongol Khanates, Russia became a prototypical Eschatological Garrison State, with a high degree of cooperation between Church and State and an extraordinary level of military mobilization...
..Israel is the only Jewish state in the world, founded in the shadow of Auschwitz, besieged on all sides by states with which it has fought several wars. Whether this justifies the kinetic aspects of Israeli foreign policy is not the point. The simple fact is that this is Israel’s innate self conception. It is an eschatological redoubt for a Jewish population that sees itself as having nowhere else to go...
..However, the Eschatological-Garrison nature of the state is not the only way in which Israel is abnormal. It is also quite unusual in that it is a Settler-Colonial State in the 21st century. Israel maintains hundreds of settlements in soft-annexed territories like the West Bank, which are home to half a million Jews. These settlements constitute an effort to demographically strangulate and assimilate Palestinian lands, and cannot be described as anything other than settler-colonialism...
..Thus, Israel unfolds according to unique geopolitical logic because it is a unique state, having both an Eschatological-Garrison and a Settler-Colonial nature. The viability of the Israeli project depends on the ability of the IDF to maintain powerful deterrence and protect Israeli settlements and settlers from attack. This fact creates a sense of asymmetric vulnerability for Israel... A security asymmetry exists in Israel because the IDF needs to maintain massive full-spectrum overmatch over its adversaries, both in conventional war against state actors *and* a preclusive defense that can effectively filter against low intensity non-state actors. Israel’s security situation has been built on the back of overwhelming victories over surrounding Arab states - the Six Day War, the Yom Kippur War, and so forth, but it also needs to constantly filter and defend against low intensity attacks. The viability of Israel’s settler project is guaranteed only by IDF overmatch and the threat of punitive attacks...
..Rome was able to secure the borders of an enormous empire for centuries with shockingly low force generation by maintaining the threat of overmatch, and reliably (we might say excessively) punishing those who either invaded or rebelled. In the case of the 1st Century Jews, their temple was destroyed, much of Jerusalem was wrecked, and their leadership was devastated and scattered.
Ironically, Israel now finds itself in a situation similar to their former Roman overlords, needing to maintain full spectrum overmatch and the political will to wield their power punitively in order to sustain deterrence and protect their settler project...
..That is why, on October 7, Israel found itself in Zugzwang. It had to move, but the only move available was a massively destructive invasion of the Gaza Strip, because Israeli strategic logic dictates an asymmetric response. Hamas’s attack necessarily triggered a ground invasion and concordant air campaign with the ostensible goals of eliminating the organization, despite the obvious certainty that would cause mass casualties in Gaza and abnormally high losses among the IDF...
You can afford the luxury of Queensbury Rules because other men are willing to wage war against belligerents who would otherwise harm you. The world is full of men who John Maynard Smith describes as "sneaky fuckers" (1993).
Flaco is less likely to attack Houston Granny than Chicago Granny because the former may have an asymmetrical response (handgun) that the latter will not. Absent the potential of deadly force, Flaco will likely find Chicago Granny a more suitable target.
In the event that Chicago Granny blows Flaco out of his socks, Flaco and his cohorts are less likely to target Granny in the future.
But if Flaco targets Granny, she wants to respond with something more - something to make Flaco to think long and hard before taking action against her - something memorable.
These rules apply on the school playground and when defending from hostile nations.
BigSerge describes how and why we wage asymmetrical warfare, based largely on the genius of Sun Tzu. There are no "polite wars" and if you intend to fight one, be prepared to lose. Hamas and Iran have declared their intent to destroy Israel.
We all work on our understanding of the world, of "reality". I don't think you are actually addressing me, or perhaps even your projection of "me", but using this as a platform to express your viewpoint.
What you describe as my view is not my view.
You give a simplified analogy, which does not really apply. Who is "Houston Granny"? Arabs/Palestinians, or Jewish Israeli settlers?
I seek to refine and improve my worldview daily.
I grew up in a USMC family on military bases during the Vietnam War (which was not good for Dad). Grandparents on both sides grew up, lived, fought and traveled abroad extensively. I attended non-military high schools in Japan, myself.
I seek only to understand what is causing human suffering and what might possibly be done to lessen and even minimize that. It could be interpreted as seeking a "just" course, but "justice" is very broadly interpreted in the world.
The analysis which Big Serge provided, and I edited down for brevity, is as good a dry analysis as I have seen.
Hamas and Iran "have declared intent to dismantle 'the Zionist State'", which I interpret as the apartheid "settler state" which Big Serge describes.
They intend (best I can tell) for there to be a state which respects human rights equally upon that land called Israel/Palestine, as had been the case for many centuries under Ottoman rule.
Can you suggest a better long term management?
"Justice" begins with Palestinian right-of-return, property rights and equal human and civil rights for all citizens under the law, right?
1967 borders were the last thing agreed by the UN, but when all citizen's rights are equal on both sides of "borders", they become less important over time.
..Ultimately, I have always believed that there is no durable solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict short of military victory for one side or the other. Neither a two-state nor a one-state solution is viable given the current construction of the Israeli state and its ideological content. A one-state solution (which gives citizenship to Palestinians within the Israeli polity) is unlikely to satisfy anyone, but would be particularly abhorrent to the Israelis who would correctly perceive it as the de-facto surrender of their state via demographic overwhelming. A two-state solution would require an Israeli strategic retreat from its settlements. In short, any of the potential diplomatic arrangements constitute Israeli strategic defeat, and can only come about once Israel has actually suffered such a strategic defeat on the battlefield...
..Ultimately, foreign observers must understand that the Israeli-Arab conflict is practically predestined by the peculiar nature of the Israeli state. As both an Eschatological Garrison state and a Settler-Colonial enterprise, Israel is unable to relate normally with the Palestinians (who do not have a state at all), and the only way out of the jam is either an Israeli strategic defeat or the shattering of Gaza...
..Concurrent with the collapse of the temporary stable state in Israel, the United States faces an unraveling of its position across the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria. This, perhaps even moreso than the Israeli predicament, represents an idealized example of geopolitical zugzwang.
To begin, one must understand the strategic logic of American strategic deployments. America has made generous use of a strategic deterrence tool colloquially known as the Tripwire Force. This represents an undersized, forward deployed force located in potential conflict zones with an eye to deterring war by signaling a commitment to respond. The classic example of the tripwire force was America’s minuscule deployment in Berlin during the cold war...
..On the whole, the tripwire force is a useful and well established tool in strategic deterrence, utilized by both the United States and the Soviet Union (as in its deployments in Cuba) throughout the cold war. Today, the United States adopts a similar strategy in the middle east, in relation to Iran...
..The American strategic goal, in a few words, is to conduct area denial and prevent Iranian hegemony in the middle east. This, in turn, is an extension of the broader American grand strategy, which is to prevent the preeminent or potential regional hegemons from consolidating positions of domination in their regions: Russia and Germany in Europe, China in East Asia, Iran in the Middle East. The geopolitical story of the modern world is one of triple containment by the United States, using an array of regional satellites, proxies, and forward deployments. Because Iran is the only state in the Middle East with the potential to become a regional hegemon, it is the object of American containment. America’s lingering deployments in places like Iraq and Syria therefore ought to be understood primarily as efforts to disrupt Iranian influence and offer forward deployment to combat Iranian militias... They can be understood as a form of tripwire force that also has limited operational value.
Unfortunately, the United States has discovered the limits of these skeletal forward deployments. The American presence across the region is too small to credibly deter attack, but large enough to invite it...
..The standard American reprisal for attacks on its facilities and personnel - air strikes - have little deterrent value against irregular combatants who are both willing to take casualties and mentally acclimated to a long struggle of strategic attrition and survival. Iran and its proxies have long time horizons that are resistant to short, sharp rebukes.
Furthermore, Iran and its allies thrive in conditions of governmental disorder, inuring them to America’s capacity to smash up states (creating what I call trashcanistans). Creating a trashcanistan can be strategically useful in many circumstances - by intentionally creating a failed state, a vacuum of disorder can be created on the enemy’s doorstep. In the right circumstances, this is a potent lever for creating geostrategic area denial. In Iran’s case however, failed (or at least, destabilized centers) create vacuums for which Iran is the most natural fill. This is why America’s geopolitical shooting spree across the Middle East has coincided with decades of steady growth in Iranian influence...
..American bases have endured relentless rocketry attack by Iranian proxies (attacks that have killed American soldiers), and the Ansar Allah movement (the Houthis) continue to obstruct shipping in the Red Sea despite a limited air campaign. In a geostrategic environment where deterrence is no longer credible, tripwire forces (like the American bases at Al-Tanf and Tower 22) cease to become deterrents at all, and become mere targets... After decades of wars across the Middle East, Americans are simply habituated to hearing about casualties in places that they have never heard of and do not care about. Thus, as both a geostrategic and a domestic-political instrument, the tripwire is busted...
..This is why those voices calling for war with Iran, as deranged and dangerous as they may be, are actually keyed in on a crucial aspect of America’s strategic calculus. Limited measures no longer suffice to intimidate, which may leave nothing in the stable except the full measure.
And so, America faces Zugzwang. As yet it appears that the traditional American toolbox has little to no deterrent value, and American bases around the region appear to be more like targets than tripwires...
..America soon faces the prospect of a difficult choice, between strategic retreat or escalation. In either case, a skeletal tripwire deployment in the region becomes obsolete, and America must either get out or go in deeper. This is why there are now alarms flashing in the foreign policy blob, who fear an American withdrawal from Syria, alongside ever more deranged calls to “bomb Iran." That’s Zugzwang: two bad choices...
..America faces Zugzwang in Ukraine. It can choose to go all-in, but this means both selling a disruptive breakneck rearmament to the American public in peacetime, *and* gambling on a faltering piece in Kiev (which is now facing a command shakeup and yet another shattered defensive stronghold in Avdiivka). Strategic retreat in the form of abandoning Kiev may make the most sense from a pure cost-benefit perspective, but there are undoubtedly prestige factors at play. Walking away from Ukraine entirely and simply leaving it to be steamrolled would be seen, and rightfully so, as a Russian strategic victory over the United States.

Muslims want Jews dead and Jews want to live. So how exactly do Jews compromise with people who want them dead?

The Tantura massacre took place on the night of 22–23 May 1948 during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. Around 40–200 Palestinian Arab villagers from Tantura were massacred by the Alexandroni Brigade, which was part of what became the Israeli Defense Force. The massacre occurred following Tantura's surrender, a village of roughly 1,500 people in 1945 located near Haifa. The victims were buried in a mass grave, which today serves as a car park for the nearby Tel Dor beach.
"The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine," Ilan Pappe. Published in 2006. Practically the "Bible" on the "controversial events" of 1948. Tantura takes up 5 out of its 260 pages. Israeli born to German Jewish parents, in 2007 he "voluntarily migrated" to England from the only democracy in the Middle East , a year after the book was published and after endorsing a boycott of Israeli universities. This was after 22 years as a senior lecturer at the University of Haifa.
Everything in the Tantura doc and the structure of the doc itself, together, comprise a microcosm of "Truth Barrier" -level truth telling in action.
It's hitting me profoundly.
One of the most exciting parts, for me, about the doc's overall structural component: audio tape in the late-1990s -- 50th anniversary -- with the israeli soldier's then in their 70s. With a follow up 20-years later, in front of the camera, in their 90s -- ostensibly, largely, the same cast of characters interviewed on audio tape 20 years earlier
Needs to be watched a minimum of twice. I suggest the first viewing be at night, with the lights out, after an otherwise long day. Second viewing: sometime during the day, after a cup of coffee or tea.
This documentary is a wonder. I knew about the Nakba intellectually, that some 400 Palestinian villages were wiped out by Irgun and other death squads. But this documentary taught me a profounder lesson which I don’t know how to say. I want to share it with the Christian Zionists I know.
I thought that was an excellent interview and that Mr. Goldman was very fair in his treatment of Mr. Schwartz. I'm not sure why you refer to it as a battering by a hostile interviewer. Perhaps Goldman's personal views are hostile to Schwartz's views, but he didn't seem to betray such in this video. Did I miss something?
Yes Mr. Schwartz is one of the few who dare to not sully/taint the Truth with lies as most dishonest members of the main stream media liars and whores tend unto in their dishonesty and serfdom to kneel before their political masters. One surely knows without a doubt that most journalists do have big lips but they came by them honestly and it was not from sucking prunes. But not Mr Schwartz and
I would bet dollars to donuts he is Jewish as the best fighters in the battle are Conservative/Orthodox Jews.
I'm sure the interviewer was all raves about "The Sorrow and the Pity" because it showed the French "were willing to finally look" at their "dark history" during WWII (to the point where since then, they've basically institutionalized their "guilt" as a state religion).
Yes, impressed at how he held his own and made his crucial points in spite of the interviewer's condescending hostility. We need more honest storytellers like you, Celia, and him!
Questions lead to answers. Answers lead to truth. Can't have that pesky truth hanging around.

Ramadan in Orlando, Florida: Muslim murders 20, wounds 42 at gay nightclub after taking hostages

Very interesting! Thank you.

How lies became facts: The Tantura ‘massacre’ returns
The story—or rather the myth—of Tantura is part of a larger assault on the foundations of Western civilization.

With due respect, I don't "hate" Jews. Stop being manipulative. One question: Did you watch Tantura? It's just yes or no.
With due respect, love, admiration, and humility:
As I asked above, if one's contempt for Jews and Israel isn't about Jews and Israel, what is it?

Pretty weak, Doc.
The men who protect you understand things that you are blessed not to require understanding. https://bigserge.substack.com/p/the-history-of-battle-maneuver-part
Continued:
..Ultimately, I have always believed that there is no durable solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict short of military victory for one side or the other.
Walking away from Ukraine entirely and simply leaving it to be steamrolled would be seen, and rightfully so, as a Russian strategic victory over the United States.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tantura_massacre
Why do you say "the only democracy in the Middle East"? Israel can be a Democracy or a Jewish state, not both.
Basically agree. I thought the quote marks would convey irony or sarcasm. That was intent.
Sorry, I must have missed that.

Thank you, Celia, for bringing this work to our attention
